Many of the changes I see in the medical field in the last 5 years make me annoyed.
I tried to get into my PCP for a well exam, and they wanted to schedule it for 8 months into the future. I guess they make less money for that so it's not a priority.

Tests they want me to repeat in a short time interval, that are coming up with negative findings, with the reason, "why not repeat them?"

I went to an orthopedist for a minor hand issue and half of the medical history questions ask about my mental health and am I happy- seriously? Then, same practice was going to do a minor surgery and stated just the extra location fee was going to be $735, (they added this part cannot be submitted to insurance), in addition to the doctor, anesthesia, and etc other costs.
Truly our medical industry is very broken.

Medicare doesn't care who you go to. Don't give it a thought.

Sounds like my doc and yours the same. My old dr. retired and I got a new young lady. Awful. Hard to get appt. because she only seems to be there 2 days a week everyother week.

I ordered blood test and white blood count down among other things. When i email her someone else answers. I can tell its not her because answers don't make sense.

I asked if i should get another booster. Got answer back, you have already been boosted. My last booster was oct 7, 2021.

She has that record. I realize that the boosters are not really protecting you against the new varient. One of the answers I received and I know not from her, but proberly a MA on her staff is Our doctors have gotten boosted and some have caught covid. I have found that male dr. much better than female in my experience. My friend has a female dr. and hates her service. The older Drs retired were so much better.

I insisted on blood work because i was not feeling up to par.

I do all the work myself. I would change, but not at this time. I don't think there is anyone working at my clinic or working from home. I feel your pain, believe me.

I have noticed this over the last several yrs....very little is done. My new PCP does actually exam your belly when laying down. I had one before this (another new place I was checking out) the doctor poked my belly 2 times while I am sitting up LOL! Never had that kind of exam before.

I only undress at the gyno's office...I don't see any reason I should be for other physician's other then the urologist (waist down) for exam when I had seen one recently to be examined...a lady urologist also. But even they only do that rarely being specialist as it is not necessary.

Come to think of it if your of a certain age I thought they ran EKG in office and you do need to undress for that one. Nurse hooks you up...and then you get to put your clothes back on thankfully! LOL

I had to do that as a pre-surgical full physical to be cleared for it.

I am of the mind set now that unless you "point" to something directly and make them look at it then they won't be finding it LOL! It's about spending very little time with the patient...so you can go on to the next one.

@SeaMaiden I would be tempted but I am on several medications that I have to take for the rest of my life.

What about mammogram and colonoscopy? you can't order them online...at least I don't think you can LOL!

So I hurt my back and decided I needed to go to Urgent Care. While there the doctor thought I needed a urinalysis. Called back a few days later to get results. Told to call back in a few more days. I did and found out none had been done. Health Care these days has become a joke.
