Hi all....I'm sorry if this has been brought up before but I just heard about it on Dlife this past weekend.

I'm just being diagnosed with diabetes but I've been fighting this seasonal depression for most of my life and now at 47 the joys of peri-menopause are exacerbating it all.

Anyway....the diabetes-depression link makes alot of sense and I'm wondering that since I seem to go through this horrible feeling about 3 times per year (at times that were always my high allergy times) if the blood sugar regulation could have always been off during these times? I'd go through periods in my 20's even when I couldn't get up off the couch for stretches of several weeks at a time.

I'm not sure if I've always been checked for my blood sugar levels or if this is just starting now at age 47 because she has me on progesterin for controlling hemorage. I'll have to ask...I've been seeing this same female doc for about 14 years. I've always suspected diabetes during those rotten seasonal times but no one ever explains what it feels like. There have been years when I was sure I was just dying of heart failure. I had a stress test several weeks ago and results of that were all good.....so I guess that's a positive.

Sorry for the ramble....I think these hot temps this summer are bringing on my fall 'episode' early as everything is drying up. August and September have always been my worst allergy months.....then it takes till the end of Oct. to start feeling better.

ETA: I've suffered IBS and stomach issues, diagnosed as Crohn's as a kid but then ruled that out when the proven test was discovered so I've definetly got an autoimmune situation happening.....and my kids have autism with one having severe bowel issues also. This planet is a tough place for the sensitive. Smiley Happy
