Re: Dial bar soap for a rash?

I also have this issue.  I have very sensitive skin and normally can't use dial.  I do use it under my large breasts and gross in the skin folds of the top of my thighs.  When I sweat it does cause a rash.  Sometimes the marks are almost bleeding.  Things that have helped me are washing it everyday in that area with dial.  Making sure the area is dry after bathing. If it gets infected I have an antibiotic cream named triamcinolene.  I also use a barrier cream from amazon kind of like a diaper rash cream that also helps. It's called Medline remedy skin protectant.  Good luck.

I have very light sensitive skin since i was a kid.  I stopped using soap.

I also had rashes under my breasts living in a tropical climate.

Last year when I spent a very long time in the hospital they gave me "Secura personal cleanser".  It's wonderful!  My skin is completely clear with no more rash anywhere.

I use very very soft non scented disposable cloths - spray the Secura on it and rub gently all over my body.  I smell so clean.

It starts with a cinammon sort of scent but dissapears very quickly after putting on.  You can keep a spray bottle in your purse for personal hygiene too if necessary.  On weekend trips with my BF I just take it in a 4 ounce spray bottle. It is really worth a try.  You can get 3 or 6 bottles of it on Amazon and not expensive.

I used to use Dove sensitive but that didn't work much either. Stull rashy.  Rubbing makes things worse. I never took long hot showers either.

PS.  Has anyone here heasrd of a skin condition called "Grover's disease"?  It starts under the breast and goes down to about waist in front.  Very itchy.  There is no cure for it. It's strange!

@goldensrbest   Yes, Dial soap will clear the rash up.  My brother had a rash and the doctor recommended Dial soap.  The rash cleared up.  If the doctor told her to use Dial, I would use it.

People commenting here are not doctors (and neither am I), so I would rely on what the doctor said instead of people on this board.  My opinion and my experience with Dial soap.

There are some different theories as to what can cause eczema--that it can be caused by a yeast or have a bacterial component to it.

When I'm feeling really stressed, I tend to break out in the folds of my skin, too.

There are different products that you can try.

There is a prescription powder that you can have prescribed by your doctor and it is called Nystatin powder. It is very finely milled, so it is best if you apply while lying down so that it doesn't fall off of your skin when applying.

Another product worth trying is Calmosceptine oitnment. It comes in both a smaller size and a larger size. It smells medicinal and it contains zinc oxide, calamine, and menthol. It actually feels cooling on your skin and if your skin burns and feels really itchy, this will help make you feel more comfortable.  It can be used for diaper rash areas.

Another product that I like is called Skin Smart. It is very gentle and can also be used on eczema, too. You need to apply it regularly and it takes time for the areas to clear.

@Toppers3

I have had eczema my whole life, from the time I was an infant.  That is interesting that you said it may have a bacterial component to it.  Your post is the first time I've heard this.

I've discovered it by accident.  About 20 years ago I started using an antibacterial hand soap because we got a pet and I wanted extra clean hands.  I had always used a very mild bar soap.

To my amazement, the eczema on my hands cleared up about 99% after using antibacterial soap.  Now I only break out on my hands if I come into contact with something I'm allergic to, and I then apply my prescription ointment and it clears it up.

I wish I had known this eons ago, but better late than never.  So anyone with eczema, I think it's worth a try to see if using an antibacterial soap would help you.
