Diabetes - Preventing Dawn Phenomenon?

I have type II diabetes, and am still baffled by fact that my glucose readings are under 100 before I go to bed, yet consistently 130-150 when I get up in the morning. I know that I obsessively dream about Ben and Jerry, but I don't think that is making my blood sugar go up {#emotions_dlg.wub}

I've been trying different things to improve this to no no avail. I am not on insulin, but am on metformin and glyburide. I have tried changing the times of day that I take my doses, and that hasn't helped. Tried having a snack before bed, even changing whether that snack is protein, fat (as in just cream in a cup of decaf), or pb on a whole grain cracker.

I've been reading about this some, and some sites say that vinegar is supposed to help. Has anyone out there tried this? Before I plunk down more money on yet another supplement (I already take cinnamon and turmeric), I'd like to know if any of you have used this. I loathe vinegar, otherwise I'd try to just drink some. I'm not that brave.

Thanks in advance.
