Go back to the dentist.  If your lower dentures are new, you shouldn't need any adhesive.  They aren't fitting properly.  But I do remember that when my aunt and my dad had dentures, it took them a while to adust to eating with the lower denture.  I imagine if you've it would take longer for you since you have had an upper and just now got the lower.

Thank you for the detailed explanation @Moonchilde.  That explains a lot.  I'm not sure my friend got the best care or the best information that she could have.

@NickNack, I’ve had two dentists whom I’ve dealt with as far as partial and full dentures. Both of them described the whole procedure as a simple, relatively painless piece of cake. Neither one of them ever said a word to me about how excruciating all those sharp edges are, or what you might need to endure. I was persistent the second time and just kept on going back every 2-3 days until I was satisfied.

But people may not realize they are entitled to keep going back to get it to be comfortable, as long as it takes, without charge. Your friend may have been too timid or just didn’t know. I learned the hard way the first time; the second time I was determined not to allow myself to be tortured. Both dentists were perfectly willing to do the adjusting, but I had to be reasonably pushy about it. And in the early days, in between adjustments, you just hurt.

@Moonchilde  It's been a while since I worked with her, but I think she did go back one time, and they just told her that was normal.  I felt really sorry for the way she suffered.  It's really good that you were so persistent.

I have had bottom dentures for 30 years.  There used to be a product called Cushion Grip. it was a temporary liner and it lasted 4 or 5 days.  Then they discontinued making it. Now I have found the same thing at Amazon.  It comes from Japan. It is called CUSION CORRECT EZ.  Check it out.  I don't know how I would ever eat without this product. After I put it in I then use a liner called Sea Bond on top of this.  It is a life saver!  It probably sounds like a lot of bother but when you see how comfortable your teeth are you will love it!  It's worth a try!  I do not want to have implants put in.  They are very expensive and I am afraid of having problems with them later on.  Good luck.

After googling this product - people do seem to love it. However all of the products are in Japanese, and no one knows what’s in it. One reviewer posted that it contains an ingredient that is found in the mfg of firecrackers. Yikes.
