I found an article online that "talks" about some of the possible changes for 2016. http://www.nytimes.com/2015/07/23/us/disability-benefits-face-cuts-in-2016-trustees-say.html?_r=0
Please make your voices heard.

IMHO The government has run amuck. The ones who hold everything in their hands are the ones who got into the "lockbox" of social security and used those funds for unrelated spending. Social Security was not meant to be an entitlement. The funds came from our paycheck. But over zealous folks made it more than it was ever meant to be and on top of that spent the money. Changes are needed

Don't you just love Social Security called an "entitlement"? My answe is simple. I am entitled to Social Security. We are all entitled. We paid in, now you pay out. It was a contract. If the funds were raided, not our problem. Find the money elsewhere.

I've read quite a few news stories about fraud in the Social Security Disability program. The government should do everything possible to root that out so that those who truly need it won't be left out in the cold.

Unfortunately, there are people who know how to "work the system".......and we've all probably met or know some of them.......

It's underfunded and will run out of funds in 2017

For the many that "work" the system....there are many more that need, depend on and deserve to be on disability. With most Government run organizations...there is need for improvement. It is not the fault of the people on disabilty for causing the problems it has....it is the people who work for SSI and the like who are not doing their job. Like food stamps, it has a huge need, but there is a lot of waste and theft.
Those on disabilty who deserve to be on it get frowned on when when you lump everyone together as working the system....or as others on this thread have stated...need to get a job. Those who make such statements show their ignorance and it shows me that they have never had and lived with a life altering disabilty 24 hours a day, day in and day out. Walk in someone's shoes first before you make such statements.
