If you need compression socks/hose for medical reasons, the TSV socks are not the ones to buy. I have these in the ankle socks and there is very little, if any compression. I don't feel any with mine. I can't speak to the longer socks, but I would not think, judging from my ankle socks, that the compression would be adaquate if you need them for medical reasons.

Watched the presentation and learned a lot about colors, sizes, and wait lists, but not much more.

With my having experience with the lung blood clots(PE) the TED hose was what was needed for those medical reasons. The Copper Fit, over-the-calf socks are what I use for ice skating, and occasionally just around the house. They just feel good to me. Sometimes I also wear them for my in-home workouts.
I agree, if someone has a medical circulation or other type of issue, they might want to see what their PCP or Specialist thinks is best for them.

I agree. Mine are fine for around the house or wearing them out with sneakers, but if I needed them for medical reasons, these in no way compare to true compression socks.

My trucker daughter wears them to prevent swelling in her legs from driving for very long periods of time.

I purchased some compression socks from QVC a few years ago, thinking they would be great when I am in a plane. Watched the video how to ensure you put them on correctly. I never did feel like they were doing anything differently from my other socks, so I haven't used them while traveling since then.

compression stockings help to reduce swelling by providing pressure to the lower extremities to promote circulation. I feel that a person who is prescribed these and measured for them work the best.

For those who wear these socks, can you "feel" them when wearing them to know if they are working or not?

If you have poor circulation in your legs, varicose vein problems in your legs, or swelling in your legs, they can help with these types of problems.
I personally think that it's best to seek help from a health care provider/doctor who could probably help you choose what type of product you need, and who can also tell you where you should go to get it--do you need to be professionally fitted for it, do you need a medical-grade product or can you go with something that you can buy elsewhere, and so on.
