Do they work? I have no swelling or pain or fatigue. Just skinny legs and varicose veins. Another poster suggested I move this from fashion to health. Can't figue out how to move but hope I can get some answers. Thanks.

I wear compression socks 5 out of 7 days a week.  I do not have any issues that require me to wear them, I just like the way they make my feet and legs feel at the end of the day.  All of mine came from QVC.

My trucker daughter wears compression socks daily to help with fatigue and swelling from sitting and driving a semi 10 hours a day.  They are the only socks she owns.

I bought some Tommy Copper compression socks from QVC for DH and I before we took a trip to Norway in January last year.  I love them.

They kept my legs energized.  But they are not hot or itchy.  They kept my feet comfortable, temperature wise, no matter what the temperature was outside or inside.  I got the knee length ones.

I have since bought my husband another set because he travels a lot, and he does not like the ones he originally had which were another brand.

I absolutely love Wellow compression socks.  I have very, very mild swelling and these help me.  Even if I didn't, I will only wear these. The fabric is out of this world comfortable.  I have knee highs for winter and ankle for summer. For me they are just the best!  Good luck!  (I get them through the Wellow website.)

Re: Compression socks

[ Edited ]

I wear 20-30 mmHg compression sheer support knee highs w/open toe daily, I order them online from Ames Walker.  When I was working and sitting all day my feet would tend to swell, now that I'm retired I still wear the compression knee highs, I like they way they feel, and it keeps the swelling down too.

I have no swelling , but am looking for something to get rid of varicose veins even a little. Will these help?

I like the Wellow Compression socks the best. I can keep those on the longest without having to take them off. They are expensive  but good.

I have venous insufficiency, and 2 years ago, my DPM did 4 vein procedures on both of my legs. The procedures closed the veins and I am happy that I had them done.

My Medicare paid for the procedures because they were medically necessary. I still have 1 varicose vein that the procedure would be cosmetic only. Insurance will not pay for that.

To close the veins, she used 2 techniques on me. # 1 was a heated wire type thing that cauterized the vein. This did not hurt, but I could feel the heat some. I had to wear compression for about a week, all the way up to my thigh. I had 1 of these done on each leg.

The number 2 procedure was a type of foam injected into the vein to close it. I had to wear knee high compression for those. 4 on each leg, all done on separate days. Then wear compression for about a week.

I am happy that I did them, my legs look and feel a lot better. I was 65 when I had them done.

I wear compression socks that I get on Amazon.

Check with your doctor... it could be something serious. I have a medical issue that often causes my feet and legs to swell.

I have average legs, not skinny or heavy.  I got the average Tommie Copper socks and I couldn't even feel them on my legs.  They didn't compress anything.  I got some at Walmart I use when I fly.  They work great.  Very effective.

I responded to your other thread.  Many years ago, I had my painful varicose veins "stripped", but the varicose veins came back.  About six years ago, I had another procedure -- much easier/less invasive.

Insurance would not pay for the procedure if it was strictly cosmetic.  And, I did have pain.  The pain is not nearly as bad now, thank goodness.

I needed to wear very strong compression hose before and after the procedure -- difficult to get off and on plus hot (I live in Arizona).  I still wear compression socks, but not in the summer and much less compression (usually more than the ones sold here).  I do wear them when I travel -- particularly when I fly.

I still have the veins, but mostly above the knee, so I generally wear pants/skirts/dresses that cover my knee when I am in public.

The socks did nothing to help with reducing my ugly veins.
