If you had one with polyps removed, when do you need to have the next colonoscopy? Seems like they upped the time from 5 years to 3 years if you had the most common adenomatous polyp which is precancerous.

@bargainsgirl I had one with polyps removed almost 10 years ago, and I was told to come back in 3 years, which I did. That one was clean, so I was told to come back in 7 years--which will be be this summer.

I had 1 a little over a year ago with 2 Polyps removed. They were benign. I go back in 5 years. I believe it depends on the type of Polyp that is removed. After the procedure, my doctor told me they looked like the type that were non-cancerous.

A while back they removed 4 from me. As I recall I had to wait for the pathology to come back before a recommendation was made. Can you ask your doctor? Then just follow the instructions.
Hope is all well with you.

Everyone's medical history is different. Your doctor should be the one to tell you.

When you had the procedure done your doctor should have told you when to repeat it. If it isn't on any of your documents or you can't remember, call the office and have them look it up.

When one has a colonoscopy after results of polyp removal and the MD calls you he should tell you right then when to repeat. There are many types of polyps. It depends on what exactly it was they removed.
