Monistat is OTC. It is used to treat yeast infections, rather than taking a prescription anti-fungal. It feels good on the skin...also I use coconut oil as it is a natural anti-fungal.

Have you used the heating pad 'moist' yet? Regular heat can be extra drying.

Body wash and body lotion with oatmeal really helps the dryness and itching. These are both fantastic, and always well-reviewed:

*St. Ives Body Wash with Oatmeal & Shea Butter

*St. Ives Naturally Soothing Oatmeal & Shea Butter Body Lotion

HTH Kiss

I agree. The heating pad is drying especially when one uses it often. I'm a hot water bottle user, myself.

Same here.

I've had the same problem using a heating pad drying my skin.

What works for me is Eucerin Calming Relief Treatment Analgesic Lotion. Works within a few minutes. Can be purchased at WM, drug stores and grocery stores and is not expensive.

I would put a bath towel between you and the heating pad cover

Benadryl clear liquid is very good and works fast

I will offer pretty much the same advice. Make sure none of your products -- soap, lotion, laundry detergent, is heavily scented. As for lotions, even though many people feel medicated powders and lotions help, they do the adverse for me. I opt for a very basic lotion with no scent. Eucerin products are wonderful. I have also used the St. Ives lotion with oatmeal and it is soothing also. Oatmeal is known for its healing and soothing properties. For my bath, I use Eucerin Dry Skin Calming Bath Wash. This stuff is just the best! It starts off looking like an oil but quickly turns into a white, thin, milky liquid, low sudsing emulsion. It makes me so soft and helps with the "itchies". Also, I read in a magazine that Heather Graham loves this stuff and uses it to shave her legs. I started doing this as well, and I love how this works, too! Good luck and I hope you find relief!

I had another thought. I had a slight itching problem about a year ago... no rash.. nothing visible. Turned out my thyroid was low. Not sure this is your problem but it is an easy test to be included when you go to the doctor.
