Chronic Tension/Migrane headaches

I have had an almost constant headache since I broke my first hip in October 2020, I have been on a laundry list of meds and nothing has helped, I see a neurologist who specializes in headaches and I am currently on Nurtec for the last three months and it had not helped, I am depressed and miserable from this experience Not looking for sympathy just venting

Re: Chronic Tension/Migrane headaches

I am sorry you have having to deal with these headaches. I have migraines on occasion. They are truly incapacitating. I hope someone can help you find relief. Botox is working for some. I can get relief with Excedrin Migraine if I catch the onset in the aura stage.

I understand why you would get depressed. Feel free to come here and vent. Sharing with others is productive in knowing you are not alone.

Re: Chronic Tension/Migrane headaches

I have chronic migraine. I stopped taking medication for it because nothing was working. In fact, the medication was aggravating my other helath issues. I found that if I can find some "mindless" chore to handle it takes the edge off. It's the only thing that diverts my attention to the throbbing. At least once it levels off I find I can have it impact my day a bit less. This works for me without any of the drub side effects. Good luck for some relief.

I am so sorry you are getting no relief.  Headaches can be so difficult to treat.  I had a co worker that developed debilitating headaches out of the blue.  She tried a variety of medications and saw numerous specialists even a psychologist that specialized in pain management.  She eventually went on long term disability.

Re: Chronic Tension/Migrane headaches

@I am still oxox  My PCP put me on Topamax about four months ago for my chronic headaches/migraines. I take one low dose pill at night before I go to bed. What a difference this has made in my life! When I went to see her I had a headache every day for three consecutive weeks. It was getting to the point where I didn't want to leave the house.

I almost never get a regular headache and only the occasional migraine.❤️

@NEvans2 I took that at the start of my journey with no relief.

@I am still oxox  I'm sorry to hear that. I thought I would mention it since it worked so well for me. Good luck getting to the bottom of your issue. Chronic headaches are a *itch!

@I am still oxox Maybe it might help to see a second headache specialist to try to get an accurate diagnosis of the type of headache you have.
