Re: Changes toLessman's Secure Bars

I didn't like the bars. If he puts some sugar I might try them again.

I tried his liquid meal replacement item.  Sorry, but for me a bar, or 12 ounces of liquid cannot "replace" a meal.

@kaydee50   Good point, of course."Replace a meal" will appeal to those wanting to lose weight.

I am slender. Not trying to lose weight. However, I eat smallish meals. So a 1/2 Secure bar, with my small "meal" gives me better nutrition.

I do use 1/2 bar, also, when I have back-to-back meetings or long commutes, instead of trying to eat there.

Sorry.  I love them.  I can eat 1/2 and feel Ok.

I can't understand him putting sugar in them.  Sweet enough for me and brought another box.

I like the idea of 1 bar being a meal.  I have only had one box, chocolate peanut butter and I love them.  I often had a half bar for an evening snack.  Sounds like I better go buy some.

I brought the 12  count in the variety last month as the 24 count sold out so fast. I know my bars and have used many over the years as a replacement meal these are really good, I  like the 3 flavors, but think I also favor  the chocolate peanut butter,so creamy is the the peanut butter and so  filling, thought my box of 12 would be really 24 bars as Andrew said one bar was 2 servings, no way could I just eat half,so I'M happy they will be making 1 bar servings as I don't have willpower knowing the other half is there, thought I could maybe save the other half for a dessert in the evening, but it was just to tempting  seeing it waiting wrapped on my counter.

I have a problem with all the meal replacement bars, not just AL.  When I'm wanting to grab something to replace a meal, I'm usually in the mood for meat, not a snack.  All the MR bars are some sort of chocolate/fruit flavors.  Usually, I'll end up grabbing a Kind bar.  At least there's some nuts there.

Andrew's bars are loaded with nuts. In fact, with his peanut butter bar, peanuts are the first ingredient.

My guess as to why he's going to add some sugar to future bars is probably so he can reduce the amount of sugar substitutes currently in them. Namely allulose and stevia. Some people have complained of an aftertaste, so he's probably trying to eliminate as much of that as he can. Personally, I haven't noticed an aftertaste. I think they taste great.

Re: Changes toLessman's Secure Bars

I think making the bar 1 serving is a big improvement but I thought he had mentioned that was in the works when it was first presented.  I thought it made no sense to make 1 bar 2 servings and I imagine a lot of people were just eating the whole bar.

As to adding a little sugar, my guess is that is because of many negative reviews commenting on the use of stevia.

Thank you @CWS22 and @sueinsf  *** the STEVIA makes total sense.

I'm not a fan of it, so glad to have it gone or diminished.

Re: Changes toLessman's Secure Bars

For me they are fine the way they are. I don’t eat them as a meal replacement. If he’s splitting them, they will be pretty small in size. The ones I buy locally are same size as his currently are. Disappointed he will be adding sugar as that’s going to change the overall calculation on my weight loss plan which could cause them to be no go for me moving forward.
