@LilacTree, it's difficult to communicate through the written word. I am not cured by any means. 2 heart attacks in less than one year...I am well aware of the danger. With so many auto-immune diseases the odds are against me but I have hope...without it the outcome would be questionable.

With insurance your daughter can go to the best. A major medical center may be able to help. It isn't just about the money either. She can see the very best with insurance and since you live in New Jersey, what about Hackensack Medical Center? My son's life was saved by a physician that practices there.

I sense your sadness but once she gives up hope, she will deteriorate...she needs support and frankly not mistrust of doctors. If she continues this way, what will happen to her when you are not here? Please forgive my candor but I feel terrible that she is not living her best life.

@Trinity11

Coincidentally, I was born in Hackensack Hospital.  And my IT daughter works there often, as they are part of the conglomerate, Meridian, her employer.  She thinks highly of the hospital, it is the premier hospital in the conglomerate which will soon be called "Hackensack Meridian something" . . . (I am not sure of the name.)

I will ask her to see if she can find out which program my Lyme daughter could benefit from.  It is over 100 miles up the Turnpike, but would be well worth it if a cure could be obtained there.

Thank you . . . that is very helpful information.

Thanks for not taking offense...I was worried about my candor @LilacTree

Yes, it is a highly rated hospital with some excellent infectitious disease specialists. I was treated there for cancer back in 1990...and was cured. My son's heart disease, as he had a rather rare condition and the head cardiologist knew how to treat it. He is thriving because of the care he received. His prognosis was guarded until we found his cardiologist. For many years, we lived with the prospect he could die...

I wish only the best for your daughter. If she is still testing positive for Lyme ...she is indeed falling through the cracks. I found at Hackensack the physicians liked difficult cases and took them on. Praying that your daughter will find relief and be able to enjoy life again.

@Trinity11

I never take offense when someone is honest with me.  I have learned so much from many posters on this BB.

I'm so happy to hear your son's life was saved there.  As I said, my IT daughter is very impressed with the way Hackensack Hospital has gone from a small town hospital (when I was born in 1938) to the excellent facility it has become.

I copied and sent your recommendation to my IT daughter via email.  I will keep you posted.

@LilacTree I am luckier, I think, than your daughter as having lived in NY, then CT, they do recognize invisible illnesses ( like lyme, fibromyalgia) here vs. other areas. I bet your daughter has heard the wow you don't look pale or sick a million times...the only way you can tell with me on the outside is my permanent dark circles...when they invent a good concealer for Lyme patients then I probably won't get any doxycycline covered lol

Thank you for your sweet reply back!! I don't write alot, no worries with remembering, I too have the lyme fog, I love lilacs 😉 Write anytime I can help in any way! I think your sprit is Awesome!   Hugs and thanksfor sharing your life, I look forward to reading all the heartfelt posters here.

@Trinity11

My IT daughter has contacts at HH, and she is going to look into it.  She services six or seven hospitals in the State, and Hackensack is her favorite.  She says they are the smartest and most willing to learn the systems.  So you are obviously correct in your admiration (and lucky for you and your son).

@DianeJ2

There is a bill in the NJ legislature, but it is taking forever to get through.  Hopefully, it will be approved soon and Lyme will be recognized in NJ too.

You're very sweet yourself, Diane J!

@Trinity11

I was not aware you had a 2nd heart attack. The last I read in your posts, you said you were still moving forward and getting better.

Really sorry to see this and also sorry I missed the post talking about having another heart attack. If and when you feel up to it, share whatever details you feel comfortable telling me about.

I will be thinking about you and hoping the damage to your heart was/is as minimal as humanly possible.

My very best wishes to you,
