So, I have had cataract surgery on each eye years apart. The first one went well, he made it so I was far sighted. Fast forward two years ago amid COVID and I had the other eye done by a different doctor ( the other doctor didn't take my insurance), he made me nearsighted in the eye. Anyway from the beginning my eyesight was blurry, over the two years since I don't see clearly out of the eye. During the surgery ( I was awake) his contact popped out and he left me to go to the parking lot to get a lens ( this was a center where they do cataract surgeries). I'm thinking he did something wrong, I will see my original doctor ( my insurance changed) and tell him about it. Can cataract surgeries be fixed, has anyone else had troubles after surgery?

You have had some bad luck @Jordan2 . I always thought that cataracts were easy to fix, but that second doctor sure messed up.

@Jordan2 I googled it. There was a statement that the lens can be changed if it was the wrong strength. Perhaps that is your problem, and there are options for getting your vision corrected. I hope so. Please let us know how it goes. Good Luck!

@Jordan2 Did you really check out this cataract doctor and the business 100%? I spent several months deciding on who to go to. Sound like you may have picked a not so great cataract doctor....sounds like an horrific experience to have the doctor get up and leave in the middle of surgery😳

What does the doctor's eyes tests show? I know I had to go back to glasses a couple of years later.

My brother-in-law was told he could get a revision of his cataract surgery since his close vision is quite distorted.

@SeaMaiden when you have insurance there is a list of providers to choose from, I can't afford to go out of network. The doctor I saw was part of a large group with offices in a couple of different towns. He and one other doctor in the practice accepted my insurance. Was he my top choice, no but I had to choose someone and I went with him. He specializes in cataract surgery so it's not like I didn't do my "homework".

I'm the OP, I am finally seeing my eye doctor (not the one who did the surgery) tomorrow. I'm wondering which outcome is worse, finding out my surgery went well and my eyes are getting worse or the surgery didn't go well and I will need another procedure?

I went to the eye doctor this morning ( not the doctor that did the surgery the previous doctor I liked who did my other cataract surgery). I had some kind of veil growing behind the lens ( I forgot what it is called), he zapped it right in the office. It may take a day or two for me to see the difference. He didn't understand how the eye doctor didn't notice it on an eye exam as it was very noticeable.

It's very common to develop a film after cataract surgery.
