Re: Cardiolite Stress test question

Hello my friend @sfnative Rebecca(right)? Names disappear in this old brain at times.

Just going to add this, nothing to do with "fear" aspect of this thread. During my most unfit times between 2002-2016, I have had 2 "chemically induced" stress test.

The 1st one was around 2011. Didn't like the feeling of it, but other than that it was nothing to write home about. The 2nd one however, in 2016, when I was hospitalized with Celulitis, was a whole different animal.

This particular tests after effects on me were not good. No nausea or anything of that sort. I  however cannot think of any time in my life, even my most taxing competitive events, where I have felt overwhelmingly exhausted.

Think it was on the 3rd day of my 6+ day hospital stay, and it took everything I had in me to get out of the recliner and make it to the bathroom. When I went home, that was the weakest starting point, fitness wise, of any of my many, many journeys back to being physically fit once again.

Took me weeks to even walk around our home without my oxygen saturation dropping down to 80%. Way over a month before I could go down our 17 basement steps/rest, and mostly have to pull myself back up with my arms using the hand rail.

The best part about this specific journey(recovery) was it brought me to where I have been now for over 16 months. That being one of the best physically fit times in my many years excellent fitness. When asked "how ya doin", my response now during that/this period is GREAT !

Hopefully I never am so weak that I cannot climb on a treadmill for any type of stress test. Fear of procedures has never been an issue for me, but my memories of that effects of my last "chemically induced" stress test, will always be present in my mind.

Fatigue is 1 thing, what that specific test did to my body?  It took everything in me to climb and scratch my way back to even a slight semblance of physical fitness.

Anyone other than @sfnative  that reads this. This is MY STORY(experience)ONLY,  and not indicative of that type of test after effects. Each person is different, and having had 2 of the same test done, each experience even for the same person can be different. If your doctor advises you to get one, I suggest you follow through.

As always my very best to you my friend,

JOhn
