Yahoo Goldie. I'm glad you haven't moved on. We didn't know what to think. I didn't want to think you were not doing well. Come back home.

Pam - it makes me so mad when stores don't give the sale prices! They make tons more money when you figure all the people that go through in a day. GCR had 3 things wrong and I had one, that's not good and we were only 2 shoppers. I am going to report them for their fraudulent practices!!! Donald will hear about this.
I share your love of sewing, but only for quilts! Used to do clothing, but not anymore. Got a book from the library and taught myself how to crochet and knit, but I mostly crochet.
Jackie, my Mom was left handed and did not learn crochet or knitting either, so she couldn't teach me. She wasn't good at sewing either - those genes skipped her, lol!
Goldie - so good to hear from you!!! I'm in an apartment, no basement and even though I have purged a couple times, I still have too much stuff that I don't really need. One closet or drawer at a time! I don't function well in the hot humid weather. The other day it was only 78, but very humid and I couldn't stand it.

So, Jackie is the only sane one in the group. I can live with cart. Buggy, no.
Birdmama, I plan to watch Valerie tonight. I hadn't really decorated for Christmas until about five years ago. I'm making up for lost time. I bought a couple things. I'm usually patient and wait for things to hit as is.

@GCR18 After hubs died I downsized to a 3 foot tree. I have no idea what possessed me to pitch it last year and buy a new 6' tree from Kmart on clearance. It's interesting to me that the new tree is not assembled branch at a time. It more or less opens like an umbrella. Here's hoping the pigeon doesn't try to crawl into it and roost, lol.
I may need some ornaments - if there is a set that knocks me out here, then I will order them.
I have a weakness for snowmen, so I have to be careful ![]()

Birdmama, I should look in the mirror and tell myself I don't need another top or handbag. But I don't. Sometimes we just need retail therapy.
Hey Goldie, glad you wrote to the girls. All of you can share your crafting stories and what your doing. That will put you in first gear.Plusthere'sthe stories of Thelma and Louise here. I never look at receipts from the supermarket. Maybe I should start.
GC Jackie is not sane by a long shot. I'm just as crazy as the rest of you.. Right now I'm going to plug in my dermawand and see if I can do anything with this face.

@maestra- I LOVE a picot edging - makes it look Victorian, so pretty. Especially on the thread yarn crocheted doilies. I have only ever got a coaster done with that string yarn, lol!

@wagirl wrote:haha------been laughing my--------tookus -----off reading about the wild adventures of the wacky WI women in the grocery store. And I call them shopping carts too!!
mae----my daughter buys her yarn from knitpicks too, and she knits face cloths. Have given them away as gifts and use them myself. She taught herself how to knit/crochet. My mom was an incredible knitter. Can I be your friend too? 👩❤️👩💐
I used to do a lot of sewing on a sewing machine. Started when I was 8 or 9. Not so much anymore tho. Did my kids clothes, home decor, dolls too. Also for myself.
Geez lannie--- $3 is almost..... a cup of coffee!!!!
glad to hear about Goldie---was worried.
PAM, I'd love for you and birdmama to be counted as my friends. The ladies here are really the only people I share the intimacies (like call DH names which are often well deserved even if only in my mind) of my daily life.
Thank you!

Goldie...so happy to see you posting! I don't envy your purging as it took me forever to purge during this last move. I actually set a timer....25 mins. of doing and 5 mins. of not doing.......off and on.
maestra.....would love to be your friend too. Since my move, I have one friend....my next door neighbor. After my husband's death and after cancer, my whole life changed ...... turned upside down. I think of my life that way too. Kind of like BC (Before CA) and AC (After CA). I am going to get out once I can get settled....that's what I keep saying. But I really am working on my yard. My landscaper and I have to work on my yard between the rain and his work keeping up other people's yards so it's a slow process. Do you live in the South? I live in south Alabama.
I call those "things" in grocery store, a buggy or shopping cart....either can come out of my mouth. Most often call it a buggy I think.
birdmama....I have been sitting on my small front porch a lot lately. It is hot but I have a ceiling fan which cools a little. I have birds all around me singing up a storm...and flying from tree to tree. There's a lot of trees....all kinds....sometimes I feel like I live in a wet, hot jungle. I think of you when I hear the birds.
jackie....your life sounds so exciting to me! You really live....get out and about a lot....and always helping others too. I enjoy hearing about your adventures.
Hi to Lannie, Pam and GCR.....and all who read or post here. Enjoy this day of rest! ![]()

What a happy bunch of wackos we are---glad to read all the posts from everyone this a.m. Couldn't sleep past 4 a.m., tossed and turned til 6, so got up and tended to stripey cat, as usual, and am trying to plot my day from here. My house is in all sorts of disarray from purging junk. Got big empty boxes ready for donation stuff. Have to make some room for the carpet peeps to come measure. It's time to get serious about new carpet. Hubs has been clearing out his junk at the side of the house----gasp, shock, amazement-----he still doesn' even know the junk I already got rid of last month. A good sign-----finally!!!!
happy Sunday----

Just wanted to say----what are you all thinking ---Xmas in July!!!!!!!!
I can't even think about that time of year yet. Have no desire for anymore stuff like that. I guess working in retail has left a horrible, nasty, taste in my mouth for the holidays, especially---HELL-OWEEN!!! OMG---that junk went up right after July 4th and stayed up until Nov. Xmas wasn't as bad but still had to look at it until well into Jan.
OK, ok---so sorry for my outburst---you all enjoy it------:-0---I will take a chill pill........
