Hi Pam!

I wonder what happened to everyone????? I hate to be a debby downer, but I don't have a good feeling that Jackie has not written here in such a long time--do you know anyone that might be able to try to get in touch with her?

How are you doing???? Tell me what you've been up to!!

I'm OK----PET scan a month ago was clear--next one is in January---my oncologist said she will give me a break until after the holidays!

Remy had to have three teeth removed last week--Chihuahuas are known to have genetically bad teeth, no matter what. He had a molar and two smaller teeth removed. He did well with the oral surgery---no worse for wear--he's a stoic boy and never shows discomfort--he's just about back to himself. We were mostly worried about giving him general anesthesia, but he did fine.

Hope you are doing well.....

Hugs,

Gracies/RemysMom

Hi @Gracies Mom   I'm happy as I knew it your tests would be fine!

I too am wondering about Jackie.  I would have thought someone here has her email since this thread has been ging on for years.

I hope it's just that she is now on the board of her condominium.

It's a hard job and will keep you busy day and night.

Hopefully she checks in to say "hello".  Smiley Happy

@Gracies Mom ---So good to hear from you!! Actually it's good to hear from anyone...I too, am worried about jackie--and no, I don't know how to get in touch with her---just a shout out to her---

JACKIE---where are you????

Glad to hear your scans are good--

-OMG--my stripey cat has horrible dental disease---she has had about 1/2 of them removed --I think---and needs to go back in January--they are bad teeth and how in the world to you brush a cats teeth without stressing her out--she will be 14 in June--way too old for such stress.

I haven't been up to much . It's been  a year ago I had surgery for my broken ankle and that now it is in  pretty good shape--thought I would need more surgery to remove the plates and screws from the outside bone as my leg hurt  alot as well as on the top of my foot---but --magicallyWoman Wink that all resolved itself almost over night it seems, and I am walking normal-ish, and can finally wear shoes comfortably too. No shooting pains up that leg--those nerves must have finally healed. I missed all of the fall, last year and the beautiful fall days and changing trees, so have been out walking and really enjoying the color--and the decors that are up now---

good to hear from you--a pat for Remy please!!!

Hi all,

I heard the sirens for jackie to check in.Have been extremely busy with the board. Am just pooped from all of it. But you have to  keep busy.

Lost a ton of weight. Last year when i went to the Dr i was 175 lbs. Always a size 12. When I went through hell last year with my breast I  basically cut down on my food. When I get stressed I don't eat. Well that passed and I went on the intermittent fasting diet. Went back to the Dr this year and was 147. She said keep it up. She is as thin as a rail. So I did and now I'm 134 lbs. Eating better and this is the weight I'm supposed to be. I haven't been this thin since my 20's. Just not used to seeing me like this. I'm 5 ft 3. This diet is not benign. You do lose your appetite. You are fasting for 12-16 hrs. So I force myself to eat. Protein shakes, cottage cheese and fruit multivitamins and some sort of green drink. Normal dinner. You know this has all taken a year and I can't remember what I ate before.

Gracies Mom read that your pet scan was normal. Wonderful. Pam your walking again which is good. have to go back and see how Pink is doing.

I'll be around and check in. Slow week with the board. It's been horrendous.

@JackieHN -----JACKIE----you're back!! I am so glad to hear from you--was imagining all sorts of awful things----so what is up with that breast?? Please excuse my being nosy but that doesn't sound good!!! Hopefully that has been figured out---and the weight loss--HOLY COW--that is alot to drop!! I have been interested in that type of diet----I need to drop about 20 lbs myself.  Pink was right when she said you were prob busy with the board--are you glad to took that on? Sounds like herding cats to meWoman Happy

Yes my foot is much better, still limping a bit --I was doing my stretching exercises for it one night and tweaked it so now it hurts a little bit again. But tylenol and a rub down of volteran gel helps alot. I can wear shoes again. Have been enjoying this past fall as last year at this time I was in a boot and a wheelchair and not able to walk around and enjoy all the fall colors.

Hows the family? And wasn't there a new baby born this year too?

Happy you are back-----and well most of all!!!

Last year they found a complicated cyst in the right breast. She said they don't turn but wanted me to have an MRI. I said fine. Waited a month for that and we all know I get crazy. Never heard from my Dr. Got ;a letter saying everything was benign. Always drama when i go there.

yes, we had another baby boy. His name is Hamish. Can you imagine? We don't hear that much from them. They are busy with the boys which is their excuse. My sister-in-law is peeved. She never hears from her married son. Her daughter in law was so attentive before they got married. Now, nothing. It's the luck of the drawer with children.

Finally got my flu shot last week. Still up in the air about the covid one. How do the rest of you feel about it.

Hope Remy is OK with his teeth. And Pink how are you??

@JackieHN --I think I remember your cyst drama---just why in the world would they not get a letter to you before a month??? Just plain incompetence, I think.

I kind of like the name Hamish--wonder what they call him--Hammy? Well that's not great---

Yes I got my flu shot about a month ago and am going Saturday for the new Novavax covid shot--supposed to be not as harsh as the others, side effects wise----my DD has had such bad reactions to those booster shots--so hopefully it won't be as gnarly, she is getting one too--- then on to the RSV shot and prob the pnuemonia one too.

So I finally got things squared away with Social Security---got my back pay dropped into my account this morning---and then come January, I will be back on track for what should be my normal monthly amount plus the cost of living.---those peopleWoman Sad are so freaking incompetent---it's taken a year to straighten this out.

Just planning out thanksgiving dinner with my family--going to younger brothers house. Can't believe it this time of year already!! He's got prime rib and lamb in mind--sounds ok to me!!!

so glad you are here jackie!!!

My brother worked for Social Security years ago. He always told me. If you have trouble with them always go down to your Social Security office. We can ususally take care of the problems.

Hi All!

JACKIE---OMG---is that YOU???!!!!! So glad you are back posting!!!! I'm glad Pink was right--that you've been busy on the board--and that nothing bad has happened----how refreshing! Guess I'm used to bad news.

Remy is doing fine since he had some teeth removed--he's such a little warrior--didn't phase him in the least! He's a happy little guy. Novemmer 10th was his "gotcha" day--it's been 5 years since we adpted him from the shelter. And this year was 5 years that Gracie went to the Rainbow Bridge--time goes too fast.

I'm OK--happy that my PET scan in September was clear--next one will be in January. Still feeling crummy from the Arimdex I have to take, but so be it. If it continues to work, I will continue to take it.

Thanksgiving plans everyone? It's just Joe and I..and Remy..for the holiday..just like the last few years. We do not travel well anymore, so we forgo seeing Joe's family down on Long island. Except for my brother (who won't budge from Manhattan), I have no family left. We don't mind it's just us now---at least we have good memories of past holidays with our families.

We cook the usual turkey and a couple of side dishes. I ordered a gluten free cheesecake from a bakery in Manhattan--pricey, but worth it. A nice treat for us.

Hope everyone is doing fine....have a Happy Thanksgiving...be safe and well..always praying for all of you!!

Big hugs,

Gracies/RemysMom
