@GCR18---the weather is really unreal around here--predicting as much snow as we got 10" Monday--- on Friday into Saturday and THEN------ another storm that will dump the same amount on Tuesday!!!!! Good lord that is 30" of snow in a week----so not normal at all------and I am done with it. Still very cold day and night so nothing is thawing/melting. But temps at 40 today so maybe I will venture forth for supplies. Weather peeps can't agree when all this will happen either but all agree that sometime tomorrow til some time on Sat for snowfall.
jackie---I had to go change my underware after reading the naked husband post-----Can't unsee that, can you!!!!

Jackie - thanks for the laugh, but couldn't you have gotten a pic or better yet a video so we could get the full effect??!!! It surely had to be a Kodak moment. You are so honored to have witnessed that heroic act, carried out in all nakedness no less. Oh the mental image I have, LOL!!! Of course you had to clean up the mess, we women always do.
Mae - hope your drs appt will be a good one and things will start getting better for you. Of course, if you keep taking your brace off in your sleep, it may delay the healing......
GC - Canada is a nice place to live.
Pam - you are getting bad weather too??!!! No one is escaping this madness. There is another winter warning in effect for us today.
Well, I had a bad week so far. Walgreens tried to kill me
.
Started last Fri night when I was refilling my weekly pill container. I discovered I only had 3 Cymbalta left. My pharmacy went out of business, so I had went across the street reluctantly, to the Walgreens, hate the place. Told them the situation, filled out a card, gave them my ins cards so they could have that info and figured everything would be set for my next refill.
So I called Walgreens and told them I needed a refill on my Cymbalta. They told me they didn't have that listed for me. They only had a med I haven't been on for months. Turns out they only requested meds that had refills on them from the defunct pharmacy. Turns out the 2 I've been getting for years needed refill orders from the dr. Told them I would be out by Mon. Turns out they didn't care and were "sorry"
So I called my drs office, but being Sat only got the on call person. I told her what what happening, she was going to get a dr, I said no, just give me the refill line and I will leave a message. She transferred me. I left a very detailed message with my phone no if they had any questions, or I had gotten the wrong line (didn't trust the first gal).
Didn't hear anything. Mon I called Walgreens in the afternoon to make sure my med was there. They didn't have it and didn't seem to care that I was out.. Called my drs office, they found no message or note in my record about it at all.Told them I was out of it.
Said they would let the dr know.
Didn't hear from Walgreens that day or Tues and by Wed I was a total mess. I hadn't slept, I had a splitting headache, aches all over, dizzy and nauseous, was miserable. Then it hit me, I was having withdrawal from going off the med cold turkey after being on it for so many years.
I scraped myself together and went down to Walgreens, less than a mile away, went up to the counter and told them a little about the situation and I was experiencing withdrawal symptoms and in no uncertain terms I was staying right there until I got my medication and I had my drs number if they needed it.
She looked me up in the computer and said it's here. I said well how long has it been here? Since Mon. Evidently my dr called in in immediately after I called her office. Well, this was Wed and I had been off it for 3 days now. I said don't you call when meds's come in? Especially since I had called twice about it and was now there in person. Yes, someone was supposed to. I had even talked to the pharmacist. They all knew I was out at that point. Was told to go sit down they would get it ready. Meanwhile I got in a small fight with a young druggie couple who were fighting, waiting in line (the place was packed) and telling each other F you and I was not enjoying hearing it. That's another story. Was afraid they would be out in the parking lot waiting to shoot me.
Anyway, finally got called and she that will be $300 (generic), do you have ins? I just stared at her and said yes, you guys have a copy of my cards. They had none on my account. So, had to wait longer. Didn't get in any fights, kept my mouth shut.
Finally got my meds, stumbled down an aisle where no one was, ripped the bag open, immediately took my med like it was a shot of heroin and hadn't had a "fix" for a while. I thought I hope I'm not on surveillance camera, this doesn't look good, and I was so dizzy I could'n walk straight.
I feel better today, took my Cymbalta right away this morning. Is no one competent anymore, does no one even care anymore. So now I need to find a different pharmacy.
Sorry about the novel, but this really got to me, especially when I thought I had all my ducks in a row.
Guess who's not going to Walgreens anymore.

Oh Lannie I feel your pain. What a horrible experience you went through. These withdrawal side effects are no joke. I have my Dr write up Paxil 20mg instead of paxil 10mg so I can score the pill the have enough left over in case anything happens where it is not available. Like what happened this time when it was on backorder. I still had a lot leftover. Nope living with this maniac I can't go a day without it. And people wonder why I have OCD when it comes to certain things. Because I trust no one when it comes to important things like medications. I was on the computer a week before my meds were due for refill ordering them. Then the pharmacist called and said your drug is on backorder. We're expecting it in at the end of the month. Well I had more than enough so I said fine. Then they called again and said nope not getting it in. That's when I ran to Boris.
Now let me explain why I didn't take a picture. My husband is 5'6, practically bald, beer belly, hairy tush. Did you really want to see this?? I should have put on sunglasses. Trust me it was not a pretty sight.
Mae let us know what happened today with your Dr.
GC what is your latest saga with this trip of yours.
He's home from his MRI with disc in hand. His stenosis looks significant. But we'll have the radiologist read it .

Bo glad you got back safe and sound. It must have been a trip driving in that weather.

I'm takin' a med that has been around since the 1950's, but works for me-anxiety, panic and the whole megillah! There are side effects, but for me it's a good trade off.
Ortho MD said nothing conclusive about the neuropathy except that I have still some pretty good brusing and swelling. I have to start to try to do leg lift-cant and even a little it hurts like a @#$%^&*&#. I'll keep working on those as well as rotating ankle in and out and doing hip rotations-none of those hurt, just the knee.
I begin PT on the 20th and I'm determined to DO THIS and do it well!
New appliances arrive next Wednesday and DH is going to handle it all. We are butting heads about the floor repair but I am remaining firm on this. DH can paint the bathroom himself where the water stain is.
I 'ran' limped around a lot today so will begin to wind down for the evening, ladies.
ETA: Today was 78 degrees here ;I wore shorts and an elbow length tee-no humidity, iit was heaven.

@HerRoyaLioness---Yes I am not a fan of Walgreens either---DD gets her meds there now and it has taken almost a year for them to get things straight. However----if for some reason she can't get her meds or doesn't re- order before she runs out--Walgreens does give a few days of meds to her to tide her over.
Yes we are getting ready for ----SNOW-MA-GEDDON---around here. In 2008, we were hit hard with snow--had 24" at our house that lasted for weeks. Was at Xmas time--power was gone and it was Xmas Day---brought my camp stove inside and fixed---eggs and weenies for breakfast as I had to use food up in the refer. Made hubs go buy a generator after that so now--if the power goes out, we will be warm and the refer/freezer and a light will be working. then----we are supposed to be hit again Monday to Tuesday with more snow-----Went to the grocery store and got food so we are good. The hubs will get fresh gas for the generator and hopefully, the temp roof--will stand up under the snow---am a little concerned about that--maybe sleeping downstairs again.
jackie-----now I need some mental floss to get that picture outta my mind--

@maestra----I am not surprised that you still have numbness and prob will for awhile---those nerves are tough but if they get tweaked they are little beasties. Just do as much as you can especially with p/t even tho its going to hurt like the devil. Do a few exercises several times a day--it will pay off.
omg---78* sounds like heaven----new appliances sound like heaven too.
Am dressed in layers, looking out at snow everywhere and icicles hanging down , but my lilac tree has green buds starting to grow--weird.

On my, naked men. Hum. I guess I'll pass.
Well, it's been one heck of a trip. Left the house 9am monday. Plane lands here at 5:30pm, hour ahead due to EST. OMG this is the most screwed up airport I've been to. We have to deplane down stairs. Then escalators out of service. Had to go up 3 flights of stairs. I swear it was a mile to where you scan your passport and get a copy of it. Then down 2 escalators. Then a good half mile to security. Security looked at printout. then another 1/2 mile to more security. Some got asked questions, me no. She probably knew how annoyed I was. Then into the baggage claim. No idea how I ended up at the right place. Got suitcase, had to go down long haul to get out. Found my cell phone couldn't connect. Waited over an hour for pickup. Someone was coming from work. Gave up, got taxi. Got to hotel 8pm. Called ride. She was out having dinner. Said she texted me to just take a taxi. I was fit to be tied.
I'll save the other crazy stories. I've had nothing, but trouble. And yes, I'm staying. Was supposed to go to CT today. Had to cancel that side trip. Going home home on thursday. Had to work today and will work tomorrow.

GC your trip sounds miserable but Thurs will come soon enough. Yup these airports are a trip. LA was the worst because it was so huge. Who ever heard of picking up your luggage from Australia only to check it back in to a flight to JFK. Of course it was a million miles away.
At least I hope you have a nice hotel room and will get to eat in some nice restaurants.
Getting a cold so I decided to go the homeopathic route. Bought Sambucol and Oscillococcinum. Heard some good things about them both. Neither have any side effects. So far so good.
Husband's back is a bit better. Not much but at least he's not walking like Groucho.
Mae just try to rest up a bit. I know it's difficult when your used to be active but that leg needs some calming down.

GCR......your trip was enough to test your patience and your sanity. No cell reception would have been so frustrating when you needed to absolutely contact your ride. Good you have grit! :-)
Jackie...you are taking exactly what I take and keep on hand at all times. It helped me so much last Jan. when I got the flu and my family dr. told me I did exactly the correct thing in taking care of myself. I did end up having to take an antibiotic because of sinus infection but I got over the flu without tamiflu. I keep several forms of Blackberry Elder Sambucol on hand and just gave to my neighbor to take last week. She is a teacher and got the flu diagnosis and didn't want to take tamiflu. When taking the Oscillo., take a lot in the very beginning.....every 3 hours.
I also just received some nice jewelry....pair of pearl drop earrings and single pearl necklace...from a jewelry maker in Brooklyn....called Anna Luisa....really like them. Are you familiar?
Watched utube Shane Dawson's latest Conspiracy Theory. Have any of y'all seen it or actually paid attention to those CA Wildfires and how different houses were completely destroyed and yet the trees around them were left untouched and in tact???? And one house would be gone completely and another just feet away, still standing? He also was talking about the latest Apple glitch before the public knew. Hmmmmmm. Interesting piece....moves very quickly although way over an hour long.
So warm here now, that while the camellias (my fave) are still blooming, a lot of the other Spring stuff has begun to bloom now too. It is pretty. Mardi Gras parades up and going every weekend now.
Pam....see where you're getting hit with snow and below freezing temps. Stay warm and safe!
Wishing everyone a nice, relaxed Sunday! <3
