embgm--Hi!! Thanks for the kind words--we try hard to help when we can. Glad you have been checking us out. We are a wacky bunch and most times I just laugh at the shenanigans of a few of our ladies---and you know who you are{#emotions_dlg.w00t}. Don't be a stranger. I'm sure you have lots of info that will help too!

Thanks, ladies, for the thoughts and prayers for my cousin, and for the encouragement. It makes me feel much better. You are right, that he is in the best place.

I've been staying home a lot. It's so bitterly cold here (11 below zero and strong windchills). Schools are even closed today.

I've been following the KITCHN Cure every day (one thing to do every day, to keep the kitchen clean). I also am following the JANUARY Cure, and I'm on the third day of that. Today, my project was to clean my pantry. I don't have a pantry, but I have a jelly cupboard that I use as a "pantry". So I cleaned that out and got rid of a few expired items, and reorganized items by expiration date. I'm sure you're going to laugh, but I need to do something to keep busy so I won't just sit and worry.

My cousin was supposed to go home from the hospital today; however, they found that he is bleeding from his ostomy (which he had done many years ago). I'm wondering if that is why he needed 2 blood transfusions when he was admitted to the hospital. He's supposed to have tests done today. He wonders if the bleeding is caused by his cancer (esophageal). However, he had a body scan last month, and the only thing they found at that time was that the tumor in his esophagus had enlarged, so they were going to start him on a new chemo program this week (which they haven't been able to do yet). At least, he's in the hospital, where they can take care of him.

It's so terribly cold here, and now we're supposed to get snow and wind. There are blizzard warnings to the south and west of us. I'm staying home, and will call him at the hospital to check on how he's doing. He still has the flu, but is getting better from that. I certainly don't want to get the flu.

this weather stinks big time. I have Russian Jews in my building and when I say it's freezing outside they laugh and say this is a heat wave compared to Russia. They're outside, shopping and going about their business. I'm in the house with two sweatshirts on.

Lynn it's better that he's in the hospital than home. He has to be sorted out.

Hey Rizzo, how are you holding up?? Most of us have been there so we know it's tough. But then again so are you.

Husband is walking around Manhattan today with his friend. I think he's crazy.

Well, my nice post to many of you went to QVC never never land and I was too tired to repost and I have no short term memory anymore, so will start over.

I know I said HI! to UK - hope you are doing well!

Rizzo - I hope they will give you some before your next chemo treatment for nausea. I got about 3 different things for nausea before chemo and had no problems that way. My stomach would hurt when I ate something, but I drank pure ginger tea and that took care of it. How many treatments do you have?

Jackie - I am such a night owl it isn't funny. My internal clock has always been set that way. I would like to vacuum at midnight, but I don't think my apartment neighbors would appreciate it.

Lyn - I am so hoping for the best for your cousin. I feel so bad that he has to go through all this. Thank goodness you are there for him, but don't forget to take care of yourself too.

Last night it was 20-30 below zero wind chill - today it is snowing and blowing and only 2 above, real temp. This weekend we are having "Ice Bowl II" here in WI. Everyone is welcome to come, even if you're a Dallas fan! {#emotions_dlg.biggrin} If you are a Packer fan, you can stay at my place - hot chocolate for all!

Just got back from appt #3 in 3 weeks with the dentist--today to get a cracked tooth fixed and then two of the 3 crowns I still need, prepped---never have had so many tooth issues--I blame the cancer treatments for this----so there!!!!!!! I go back in 2 weeks for the crowns to be put on and the hundreds of dollars to be extracted from my---------------bank account{#emotions_dlg.thumbdown}. Oye!!!!!

Lannie--I can't even imagine how cold WI is---I would die!!! Right now I am dressed in several layers as well as gloves and it's like the tropics here compared to you. Will take the hot choc but maybe with a bit of the nip in it just to warm my cockles. Big football game here too.

Lyn---give your cousin our best!!!
