This is a sad day for this group. I know we are all feeling the pain for Cocoablue/Diana. I just want to step in and say how wonderful you all are. I've only been here a short time and I've been very positively affected by you all in my worst moments of fear. Seeing the support, advice and encouragement you give to one another is just great.

Cocoa - I am so sorry to hear about Dennis. Like others have said, you took the best possible care of him and now it is time to take care of yourself. Please know all of us are here for you anytime you need to 'talk'. Prayers to you and your family.

My OVA1 test results came back abnormal. I will have surgery in the next couple of weeks. Gyn oncologist now says he will likely have to do open surgery because of the location of the fibroid on my bladder. I am absolutely petrified of the whole process, but there isn't much to be done other than go through it. Luckily dr is being very good and indulging me a bit. I will meet with the anesthesiologist well beforehand to go over my concerns. My main worries are my v low blood pressure, panic disorder and propensity to be sensitive/allergic to many things. Don't know what if anything can be done ahead of time to ensure I won't have a bad reaction but didn't want to have them learn about it as they're wheeling me into OR. Despite my worries I do realize how lucky I am if, in fact, they caught OC early.

I just read a little about this test. Sounds like your dr is a good one and good for you for letting everyone know you have worries and concerns well ahead of the surgery. That in itself empowers you by taking control as much as you can right now. I'm sure there are many things that can be done for you. You just need to believe that you will be fine!!! We are here for you!!!

Well Celtic, it looks like the decision was made for you. Nothing to be frightened of as far as the surgery goes. Your oncologist is doing the right thing. Now are you eating and drinking?? During chemo I wasn't eating and my blood pressure was low. Bet your a bit dehydrated. I know this is all frightening. Anesthesia will go over everything with you. They pump you with benedryl anyway. I wanted to know exactly what I was getting and they told me. WE negotiated. I wasn't too pleased when he mentioned versed. I told him if I puke I'm going to find him. He laughed. Just give him your complete history and tell him what your sensitive to. Make a list now in case you forget.

Ask your Dr for some happy pills. We live on them. It can be xanax, paxil whatever. You don't need to be having constant anxiety.

We're here and we'll get you through it.

Celtic, I'm sorry that you have surgery in your future. I've been where you are. Im certainly not a medical expert, but I'm offering up my personal experience. I've done a lot of research on the subject. And I've been through it. Ask away if you have any questions. And maybe I can help. I'm here. We will get through it. Goldie
