I talked with my cousin today, and he seemed a bit quite. He starts his new chemo tomorrow morning (Friday).
I had some cookies I baked in my freezer, and I decided to pack them up and ship them to him (priority mail 1 day), so he should receive them Friday or Saturday. I hope they're not broken when he receives them. I put them in a shoe box in cupcake liners, and with paper towels between the layers, then in a Priority Mail shoe shipping box, with lots of packing material between the boxes. I also marked the box "Fragile".
wagirl, you were able to have your tumor removed, but my cousin's tumor in inoperable, so that's why he needs continued chemotherapy.
He's been through so much since he was 21 years old, when he had a colonoscopy, and he still has to wear a bag. He also had a large non-malignant tumor removed from his intestine several years later. Then he had quadruple bypass surgery 3 years ago. I don't think I could handle all of that myself.

lyn, he is an amazing man to go through this. I don't think I could handle it all either. You are a wonderful support person in his life, that helps a lot. May God Bless him!

I made a mistake when I typed colonoscopy (that's the test): I meant colostomy. He has to wear a bag, as he had most of his colon removed (he didn't have colon cancer, but he had some kind of colitis).
You have certainly been through a lot yourself last year. Are you done with chemo now? My cousin has been on chemo for almost 2 years. Thank you so much, and God bless you also.

Hi Sue,
Welcome to the board. Yes my friend has those tumors. He goes every 6 months and has therm zapped as well. He's just as frustrated as you are with them. Why some people grow them, who knows. Of course we'll pray for you.
Lynn, your cousin sounds like one brave and incredible person. You are a wonderful cousin to him.
Busy, busy, busy with mother in law and brother. That's why I haven't been on the board. She got a new set of choppers and they needed an adjustment. Her dentist put them in but they were so tight no one could get them out. Had to run over there so that husband could remove them and adjust them. She's very thin. She told me, get me out of here. I hate living with my daughter. She wants to live with me. But I don't have the room.
This week I'm going with my girlfriend to the radiology oncologist. I said I'll introduce to everyone. You will go for your appointment with Keith and then you are on your own. I did it with assistance, so can you. The surgeon said she is doing well.
Off I go.

Yes, Lyn, I am done with chemo done, since last Sept., but then ended up with some neuropathy but I am alive ! I implied I had both cancers last year, sorry, I had BC many years ago, and cc last year.
As I said before, your support means a lot to him, and God Bless you both.

Thanks Goldie. I have read these threads for a while now and find the support to be overwhelming. My ordeal started in Jan.2011. I am doing ok and I cannot complain about what I am going through for it is nothing compaired to what all of you have faced. My prayers to each of you.
Yes I am from Okla. It is Duncan.
