So happy that your Dad and Mom are still here with you and can join in with family get togethers and all....like you said "one more year that you've gotten to have your Dad here". Sounds like your girls are doing good...the resilience of youth maybe. Please let us know how it goes tomorrow. Maybe some of the other ladies can shed some light on this pain you're experiencing.Bow, I'm so glad to hear how well you're doing! I'm sorry you're experiencing such awful weather though. Is everything ok there today? I know I grumbled about the long cold winter we had in the northeast but I'm grateful for not having hurricanes, tornadoes, mudslides, wildfires, etc. We did have 2 bad floods here but nobody was killed. Anyway, my onc appointment went well on Tuesday. My CBC, cmp, & vitamin d are all good. Had the ca 27-29 test and that's also good, but it's 13.9 (up from 10 6 months ago). My dr says not to worry but of course I can't help but worry. I want the # to decrease, not increase. Lannie, Uk, Pam, Jxx, Goldie, JBin, Maria, everyone else I send a big shout out to you. Have a good weekend all, kindleI'm doing super great! Weather is hot here....tornado weather due in a couple of hours until around 3 a.m. Then another round tomorrow....

Hi Kindle - it sure is hard not to worry - isn't it? These darn cancer zombies will haunt us the rest of our lives, but we will all hopefully win the battle!
Have a great weekend all.

Well Lannie, that diet sounds interesting. I'm sure there's no Ben and Jerry's ice cream on it. I'm sure you can do it for 30 days with a bit of cheating. Have you been takig probiotics?? I have found they help a lot with gastric issues. Plus I take my mushrooms everyday. Not so many aches and pains. I think you did the right thing by going to an NP.
Please tell me why I watch Dr Oz?? I bought the white bean extract and had gas up to my eyeballs. It's subsiding now. Lord, this man is nuts and I'm crazy too for listening to him. Yes he puts out some good information but some of these supplements, and herbs are for the birds.
UK fabulous news about your checkup. Yeah, we're stuck with these cancer zombies. But we survived it all. Now we just have to live our lives as best we can.

Kindle, great that all your tests are good. Maybe the CA 27-29 test results will be lower next time. Will your next tests be in 3 months? What did your doctor say about the pain?
...Jackie....Ben&Jerry's has been pretty much my daily diet plan for a while. I've done fresh lemons in warm water first thing in a.m. off and on for years....does it help????.....well, nothing that I am aware of, but I get on kicks because so many people have done it thru the ages and I love Vitamin Sea... I mean "C"...love both those vitamins...lol. Don't forget to brush teeth before the lemon/water as brushing after acid drinks can harm enamel.
Lannie, hope your new way of eating is beneficial. I've had the book, Grain Brain by Dr. Perlmutter, on my bookshelf for a few months....have not even opened it yet, but must do that soon. I just naturally don't each much gluten and think it's a good thing to remove from my diet.....that is, gluten isn't in my Ben&Jerry's, right....

I could jump into a vat of Ben and Jerry's right now. Been living on skinny cow for desert. Not even a good substitute.
Bo thanks for the advice about brushing my teeth before my hot water and lemon. Been having trouble with my teeth ever since chemo. I keep on thinking of my grandmother with her teeth in a glass. My worst nightmare. I'm not a candidate for implants. My cousin who has teeth problems and I laugh over it. She's on her third set of top implants. None of them are taking. I said, Debbie get a plate and stop this torture already. We're doomed to the glass of water with polident.
It's beautiful here today. Sun is shining and its warm outside.

I have no clue whether Ben & Jerry's has gluten in it - I wouldn't think so, but the sugar, well that is another matter...... One vice I don't have - ice cream. I can take it or leave it. Of course I have to have it on apple pie tho!
There do seem to be a lot of gluten free products around - it's mostly cutting out the carbs in breads and there are substitutes for that.
I forgot, my nat dr also put me on Aloe Vera juice. Organic of course.
And I drink my lemon water any time of the day or all day long, when I remember.
OT was helping my tennis elbow, but last time I had a student and after she got done with the ultrasound treatment (to get heat deep into my tissues) and dipped my arm in hot paraffin (it looked like a mannequin arm) and wrapped it up in warm towels and then massaged it, she put on this bandage thing that has medication in it. In this case steroids. It has a little bitty battery on it and they put it on my arm, charge the battery and the electrical charge sends the medicine into my arm. I keep it on for 2 hrs and then throw it away. It's hard to explain, and it kind of burns at first and feels like pins and needles. Well, this last time it REALLY burned. And it kept hurting when I took it off. Well, I discovered yesterday that I have a raw, round little angry looking "crater" on my arm by my elbow. I didn't see it right away because I have to turn my arm over in order to see it and my arm hurts anyway, so I didn't pay too much attention. I ended up going to Urgent Care just to make sure everything was going to be ok - I had never encountered anything like this before. Neither had the doctor. He said well, it's not infected. I knew that. It looks like it is healing ok so far, but I survived cancer and I don't want to die from a malfunction on an electric device from OT, for crying out loud! I don't know what they are going to with me tomorrow. I don't think hot paraffin wax would feel good on an open wound.
Jackie, quit watching Dr Oz, lol!!! Some things are informative and interesting and useful, but no way could one person ever do or take all the stuff he has on that program. Sometimes I wonder about that show.
Hooray for UK for a good check up - way to go!!!!!
It's finally beautiful here today - went out and enjoyed the sun.
Everyone take care,
LL
