It's whatever the facility's requirements are.  I'm scheduled for mid-October but don't know if I'll feel comfortable going depending on the state of the virus at that time.  I may reschedule for the spring.  In any event I would not take the nasal swab test.

@Deree , there are a couple different nasal swab tests.  One that is called a nasal swab test only needs to have the top part of the swab inserted into your nose.  The cottony part of it.  It goes in, you swirl it around and then use the same swab and put it in the other side, swirl and you are done.

Then there is the nasal pharyngeal swab test.  That is the one that goes all the way up into your sinus cavity.

If you have to get one done, just know which one so you don't unnecessarily cancel a test.

Yeah, thanks @Lipstickdiva  I thought I heard the nasal swab test wasn't at all accurate *because* it doesn't go all the way up.  In any event the bigger problem are other factors including my transportation to the facility -- I'm in the city and usually take the bus or subway but I don't intend on ever getting on a bus or the subway again.  I could drive and park in an expensive city garage but they won't let me park my own car.  A valet will be driving my car. Not too keen on that idea.  Smiley Frustrated  Then there's the issue of my walking into the facility and seeing too many people in the enclosed waiting area for my comfort.  This facility is always jam packed and overbooked.  So many factors that if I'm going to have high anxiety about it I will just reschedule.

Wear a mask. Social distance. Be part of the solution - not part of the problem.

Re: COVID19 test needed before Mammogram?

The answers to questions like this, always depend on where you live.

I have not needed to be tested for covid for any medical procedures (including mammo)where I live, but we are now done to only 2 active covid cases in our town.
