Around here, MA, Hood is a biggie with the most flavor offerings.

@eddyandme  Oh yes, Hood's.  Do they still make Hoodsie cups with the little wooden spoon?

I do like cottage cheese but small curd only.  I shy away because of the sodium content but plain or with fresh fruit  was always my preferred way.

Breakstone was never watery.  I also find once you open cottage cheese or sour cream you start to get some separation so the "watery" part becomes evident.

YES, @Cakers3, you can still buy Hoodsie cups, sans spoon!  In fact, almost picked up a pack of the half choc cups and half vanilla cups this past week, but my Eddy loves pistachio which I can share with him. Being a furbaby he cannot eat choc so I wouldn't get any vanilla cups; though I crave choc sometimes, vanilla is my fave.Woman LOL

@Cakers3, storing container upside down might help.

@eddyandme  Interesting.  I store my stone fruit like peaches and plums upside down.

@MoJoV  Do you have Safeway by  you?  Safeway has a no salt added 1% fat cottage cheese that I buy all the time.

@SeaMaidenNo Safeway in the Chicago area. I wonder if our Jewels are Safeway.

@MoJoV      If Jewels carries LUCERNE brand dairy products then they might.  This cottage cheese unsalted is  made by the Lucerne label which is a Safeway product label.

I'm a fan with peaches, pears  or pineapple--and like to sprinkle savory herbs on it too. What is really fantastic is Ricotta cheese on toast or crackers----wonder if swirling cott cheese to make it smooth would be the same--hmmmm?

@eddyandme

I have always said on this forum, "do what works for YOU"!  One must remember that losing weight and losing fat, are not one and the same. Lower scale numbers give only pounds and kilograms of body weight, not the compositional makeup of a person's body.

Yes, I know well the "eat less fat" program. That is what I have followed since the mid 1970's, and will continue to do so for the rest of my days. Is it the answer to a every person's scale weight numbers? No it is not. Will it change a person's fat to muscle body composition? No it will not.

For me, complex carbohydrates, mostly in their natural form, are my primary source of nutrition. That has provided me(excluding my years of life threatening health issues) with the energy my body needs to function at it's highest physical fitness levels. Does it guarantee a life long avoidance of serious health issues? No it does not, as a person's longevity, and/or health comes with no guarantees, regardless of their "way of life(lifestyle)".

I understand that there are many that have to avoid most of these foods because of specific diseases, but I fortunately, have thus far not had those types of health issues. I also understand the gender differences when it comes to bone density, where the female gender, generally speaking, are much more prone to osteoporosis. I also believe that eating and/or drinking bone retaining nutrition, at an early age, can also help both genders.

Physical health along with physical fitness, should be everyone that is interested having "more life in their years" goal, regardless of their "scale weight numbers"! Overweight individuals can be very physically fit, but again, being healthy and being physically fit are 2 completely different things.

Whatever your goals, I hope you are able to accomplish them in a healthy and fit way, by doing what you feel is best for you. My best to you,
