I burnt my fingertip on the stove top.  Like an idiot I touched the burner while still on .... I'm so stupid.  It looks awful and it hurts worse than any burn I've ever had.  I did put Cortaid ointment on because I could not even wash the dishes - even with gloves on.

@rms1954   Ouch.  And so close to Christmas, especially if you will be cooking dinner.  I once cut my finger pretty bad cutting up fruit for a fruit salad Christmas morning and had about 10 people heading over to my house in a few hours.

Take care of that burn.  It always seems to happen at the worst time!

......You look like I need a drink.....

Keep your finger in ice cold water as long as possible. Take Tylenol before you go to sleep

Thanks.  Maybe I will stop over to the walk-in medical tomorrow.  I've never seen anything that looks like this.  I have a dental appt tomorrow and if that's not too bad I'll stop.  When it rains it poors.

If you are asking for advice, get a Rx for Silvadene.

If it just happened, leave your finger submerged in cool water. Use one or two pieces of ice in a glass or water.

Did it at dinner time.  About seven hours ago.  Tried the ice thing but it hurt just touching ice.

Agreed! Silvadene will help in a matter of a couple days. When my son was just a toddler, he stuck his hand on the stove and burned his whole hand. Dr. gave us Silvadene and it was much better in a matter of a few days.

This sounds like a possibly deep, damaging burn. Unless it's better and feels more "normal" (normal for a burn) this morning, I hope you seek real medical attention.

@rms1954

A few years ago I spilled a 16oz. mug of just boiled instant coffee between my legs. Came out with 2nd degree burns in 1 of the worst places possible. I did the in-home treatment right away and talked with 1 of my doctor friends, and visited my PCP as soon as I could get in.

He wrote me a prescription for Silvadene, which I still use when, I too,seem to find ways to burn fingers etc.
