I"ve seen numerous shows on TV exposing this item as a complete rip off. It seems that all it does it keep your hand's and arm's busy. It may burn some calories, but the total benefit from it is minimal.

There are many tv shows/journalists who always are trying to ""expose"" simple solutions as rip offs but in actuality they are the rip offs proclaiming things that are not true! The bodyblade is widely used by physical therapists and personal trainers with much success! Of course it won't work if it's not used!! I am proof it definitely works!! I am actually more toned then when I lifted or worked out on the weight machines and my workouts are not a strenuous!

If you had a Bodyblade, a Spin Gym, and a shake weight, you'd have an entire gym!

We have two sets of BodyBlades in our exercise room. For some reason, whenever I use them I feel kinda nauseaus, dizzy.

Haven't seen Marie's item but have a couple that use the resistance tubing that I love - seems like the person's name was Greer something ( they aren't at this house right now or I would look). It has a bar that one can twist to adjust the tension of the red tubing and add additional weight resistance. The exercises are even printed on the bar. Very, very sturdy - I really like them.

Maybe that is where she got it from. That's what Marie's has. I'll stick with the Bodygym for now. My order is allegedly processing on Q and if I like it, I'll stick with it.

I use them on occasion but I prefer just grabbing my Tony Little Body Shaper Pro to get pretty much a full workout with upper and lower body. Much more improvisation to do many exercises not able to do with the Body Blades.
I have Tony Little's Body Shaper too and love it. At first I had ordered Marie's but hers was on backorder and Tony's was available for about the same price but with free shipping. I am glad that I got it, I also like the DVD's that I got with the device.

Its just another gimmick. If you want to warm up, get yourself some dumbbells for home and get your juices flowing that way. No serious trainer would even think of using it. Its a joke and does absolutely nothing. Go to Sears or a sporting goods store and get some dumbbells.

Light dumbbells are not real effective if you want a real workout and could never give the results the body blade does as to do so you would have to keep increasing the weight to at least 30 or more lbs. - believe me I know and since having to give up the heavier weights due to nerve damage, I am way more toned than ever! If you've never used one you can't make the judgement that it's a gimmick!!

Dumbbells work, also. As a former group exercise instructor I know that. Like any apparatus, one has to use it correctly and be in the proper form to get maximum benefit, and one needs to decide what benefit is expected in order to evaluate effectiveness. And one has to use it on a consistent basis, over a period of time, in order to decide whether it is accomplishing the goals we set forth.
I have degenerative spinal conditions and I particularly enjoy that the Bodyblade requires core stabilization and works upper torso muscles without putting stress on my back. It can be done sitting or standing. It is portable. It is not as easy as it looks. I also use a resistance tube for muscle development. That works also.
I have to disagree that it is just a "gimmick". Your assertion borders on slander.
