I've decided to buy a blue light screen protector for my computer after being diagnosed with the start of AMD.  Has anyone purchased one and could you recommend any.  My doctor said to check out Ocushield and have sent a message to them again but no reply.

@kismet   Did you check their FAQs to see if your question(s) can be answered there?

Yes, I did.  I sent a message probably 2 weeks ago and sent another earlier today.  A few minutes ago I got an email but it didn't answer my questions.  Hopefully they will so I can order one.  Not sure about the size for my laptop.

@kismet   Measure the screen/monitor diagonally from corner to corner.  Same as you do for a TV.

The screen just covers the monitor not the whole laptop. Smiley Wink

Hi @kismet,

I understand that you've been asked to buy a special blue shield screen.

My eyes are very sensitive to light both due to medication that I take, plus due to my health, too.

I'm not sure if you're even aware of this, but our newer laptops have a night light feature built into them where we can adjust the night light and the amount of blue light that our computers give off.

I have the night light feature turned on all of the time in my Chromebook, and I turned the feature on in my husband's Windows 11 laptop.

I was using his old Windows 8 laptop until it stopped working and it didn't have a night light feature, so I used a software program that you could download for free.

You can do a search for these blue light blocking software programs and they'll come up. I know that we can't post links here.

Re: Blue Light Screen Protector

@Toppers3  My computer does have the night light but I didn't care for it.  I just sent which model computer I have to see which one to order.  There are some on A but didn't know which one to get.  They have magnetic ones and hope I can get that for my laptop.  I just bought a new laptop so if it works for this computer I'll get one for the new one also.  Just haven't set it up yet.

Re: Blue Light Screen Protector

@Mz iMac   I did measure my laptop but for the 17" there were 3 different measurements so I had to ask them which one would fit.  They sent a message asking what the model of my laptop was.  Hoping to hear from them soon.

The night light mode on my computer is fully adjustable for my perfect viewing pleasure.

Also, I wear blue-block readers and that helps a lot.

I'm glad that night light setting works for you, too.

I find it to be really helpful, and as I've said, I just leave mine on all of the time.

It's just my own personal preference, as we can set it for sunlight/daylight as you know, and then have it go back on at sundown.

I've always wondered about the blue light eyeglasses, so thanks for commenting on those. Smiley Happy

I didn't think about getting a blue light screen cover for our computer or phone or whatever devices any of us are using here, but it's nice to have other choices available if we want to use something like that. Smiley Happy

Re: Blue Light Screen Protector

From what I read about blue-light screen protectors is that they filter out the blue w/o casting any yellow or orange tint. You end up with a picture that looks nearly the same minus the irritating blue light.  Blue is opposite yellow/orange on the color wheel so there must be some kind of science behind the way it must work.
