I have been using these for quite awhile and combined with trying to watch some of my diet items, walking and taking a low dose cholesterol med, my cholesterol went down quite a lot. I have enjoyed taking the Benecol chews because they have also helped satisfy my craving for chocolate. However, I can no longer find them.
Does anyone here use these and if so, have you experienced this problem? I did see them a few days ago on eBay but they were really expensive. Nope, not doing that!
I have called and e-mailed the company but so far have gotten no answer. I was on auto delivery from amazon but they have removed it from their site.
Anybody???
I have been trying to find something comparable but so far -- no luck! I don't want another pill and will not take it. Anybody know of comparable chews for lowering cholesterol?
Thanks!

I have been taking Garlique Healthy Cholesterol Formula which is over the counter and I found that this helped with my Cholesterol. My Cholesterol is now pretty much normal when it prevously had been much higher and my doctor wanted to put me on prescription drugs. I decided to try Garlique and my Cholesterol has been in the normal range for the past couple of years.
Unfortunately, it won't satisfy any chocolate cravings as it is just in a pill form, but for me it works. Hope you will give it a try and get good results also.

One listing on ebay for a 120 pack, but very pricey, $150.00 a few dollars less if you buy more than one. the seller must realize these are now discontinued or out of stock, so they are cashing in on them.

I take Lessman CholestaCare caps, but the poster said she does not want pills. These are plant sterols just like Benecol, Red Yeast Rice is a modified form of a statin drug and can have similar side effects. .

I would look for 'chewable plant sterols' or 'chewable phytosterols'. You'll find an alternative but most are just as expensive.

I found this message on Benecol's website:

I have used the Walmart brand citrucel once in the morning and once with dinner. It brought my cholesterol down from 210 to 173 in less than a year. No side effects, but you need to drink more water with it.
