Atkins Diet

Has anyone tried Atkins Diet recently? My husband's doctor has requested that he try Atkins because his sugar is too high with medication he is taking. We are going to start it tomorrow. I was wondering if anyone has had success with it and if so, can you share some of your "secrets" to success? Also, any meal plan ideas would be greatly appreciated!
