I am on blood thinners and my arm has been bruising not sure why more now than before since I have been on them for two years. I am wondering if Arnica will help them heal faster. Thank you all for you answers

Re: Arnica for bruises

[ Edited ]

I tried Arnica gel when I was having a lot of blood draws, and I couldn't tell it did one thing.

There is a reason for a bruise. I feel like I bruise by looking at my arm. LOL.

It is what it is. I'm not adding some supplement to my system to make them disappear faster. They all go away soon enough.

@I am still oxox  According to my dermatologist and also the surgeon who performed a face lift on a relative of mine, Arnica is recommended for helping with bruising. Vitamin K is also recommended.

My relative had quick recovery from the bruising after surgery. But I imagine not everybody's skin responds the same. She applied it every day until the bruising was gone, but I don't recall how fast it was.

I imagine all brands of Arnica are NOT the same, some working better than others.

@World Traveler Vitamin K with some blood thinners is not a good mix...

@I am still oxox  I don't think Arnica should be used with blood thinners.

@CelticCrafter  Thanks for mentioning that; didn't know. Those were just the two things that were mentioned to my relative and by my dermatologist.

Always best to check with one's doctors before trying something recommended by others, especially from a forum poster. @I am still oxox

@I am still oxoxand @CelticCrafter

Just checked with Web MD: "Vitamin K is essential for blood clotting and bone health, helping to prevent excessive bleeding and maintain strong bones. It may also support heart health and cognitive functions, although more research is needed to confirm these benefits."
