Thank you all so much. I can't tell you how touched I am. I watched the sun come up this morning and go down tonight and my Grandma told me " everything will be OK, in the end. Our loved ones are all around us. We just can't see them.

Most of us know what it means to be stunned by the sudden passing of a decicated family member, a godly pastor, a devout spouse, or a saintly father or mother. We have stood at the open grave with hot tears running down our cheeks and have asked in utter bewilderment, "Why, O God, why?" The apostle, Paul who lived most of his christian life on the brink of death, expressed triumphant certainty about life. He testified, "To me, to live is Christ and to die is gain" Is It Wrong to ask "WHY?"

Hi Everyoone,

Well, it's the start of a new week for me and I must start my new granddaughter's needlepoint Christmas stocking, so I have all the bits and pieces ready to go. Even snuck the purchase of a floor standing lamp with a lit 7x magnifier so I can see what I'm doing. The cataracts developing in my eyes have finally gotten in the way of this fine kind of work, I think this is going to work really well.

The cardiac stress test was on Friday and was very interesting. I didn't have to go on the treadmill due to my bad left knee and left foot, so the stress was created via drug, which dilated all of the blood vessels in my body, which also made my migraine worse. However, after the test, they had me chug-a-lug a Coke for its caffeine to constrict my blood vessels and it worked really well. Bottom line is that I have not had a clogged cardiac artery cause lack of oxygen to the heart muscle which in turn would have caused tissue loss thereby possibly causing an irregular heart beat. Now I'll be sent to a cardiologist specializing in the heart's electrical system. (Frankly, I thought I'd have been sent to this specialist first. Oh, well).

One thing I do know is that they appreciate the fact that I have Medicare with Blue Cross/Blue Shield. The guy at the front desk said, " Oh, you're double pay!!" - with a big smile on his face. So...it seems all the bucks we're spending each month on health insurance is really going to pay off. Knock on wood.

I know that so many of you are literally freezing and can't even get out of the house. I do pray that this let's up very soon for you. We've only got a wind chill of 22, but I tell you that if I go out in that, my migraine pain increases like heck, so I mostly stay in. I see my new neuro in 2 days and will be asking her for a referral to a migraine neuro that can do a biopsy for arteritis, as one of my docs in San Diego said he felt I should be tested for this, right before I moved. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Would love to hear from you, when you have time and are moved to do so. Did you know we're 2?

Thoughts and prayers are with Lobstergal and Glass during these most challenging times of loss. For all of you with a single to multiple disorders/diseases, prayers continue for you to have relief and healing sleep.

I'm off to chop up a squash for our backyard squirrels, then to the needlepoint. Love you all.

God Bless - Rebecca

Rebecca how nice you can make a needlepoint for your Granddaughter. It will become a treasure for her all her life. When my Grandma died, they asked me what I wanted of hers. I told them all I wanted was a ceramic rooster that I saw in her window from the time I was three. I have so many memories of the plants and flowers she put in it. It's not worth anything but to me priceless.

We may finally get some rain here. This drought has been just awful. I think some of the dairy farmers may have to give up some of their cattle. They're just too expensive to feed. They have to get feed from out of state. I feel so bad for them. They love their cows.

Paul played his music at a party for a lady who was 199 years old, yesterday. She looked fantastic! I couldn't think of a gift to give her, so I made a batch of home made almond rocca. I told her she didn't have to share it with anybody and next year I would do the same.

The lady who gave the party was a writer. I told her about my dream about my Grandmother. She asked if she could share the story in a book she's writing. I still feel amazed about that dream.

Your stories warm the heart. Simple things like your wanting the rooster you saw in your grandmother's window reflects what really is important in life. I lost my brother the same way. It's the small things now that give me joy. A rainbow, birds singing, the sound of the wind blowing through the trees. You understand. I came on here looking for the dress Shawn was wearing, just had to have that dress! lol I'd rather hear your stories. Smile

Dorothy - This is too cute. My husband howled with laughter, as did I. We miss having cats. Our male Burmese - Nigel - we used to call him "rubber kitty," because we could pick him up under his shoulders and his whole body would go limp and elongate and get so loooong. He was so funny and provided us much laughter. Thanks for the chuckles today.

Hi I Love Lucy and Glass,

I think it's very important, if we can, to share our loves and skills with the next generation. To that end, I've created needlepoint Christmas stockings, as well as other needlepoint, crewel, counted cross stich, crochet, knitted, and quilted items. Additionally, I'm really passionate about passing down our heritage through the cooking arts and so have compiled a binder full of family recipes, some of which are of my generation and were prepared for my daughter as she grew up. When she was in college, I typed all of the recipes up, placed them in sheet protectors and then into a 4" binder. She's now added to it with recipes of her own, which I cherish.

I Love Lucy: I agree about enjoying the wind, a rainbow, the undulation of a stream, the power of the ocean, a storm...I could sit and watch for hours. My husband does not have the patience for such activities. He doesn't know what he's missing out on!!!

God Bless - Rebecca
