Re: Anyone dealing with Ulcerative Colitis with problems

@SouthernBee  Gosh, what an ordeal!  I have a colonoscopy scheduled in another week or so....In the past I don't recall anything from the time I am wheeled into the procedure room until I wake up back in my 'bed'.

Good luck to you and yes, I would be looking for another doctor. You could make a complaint with the place that did the procedure.

@Mom2Dogs : Thank you. Totally agree. Dealing with a lot of things and changes . Can't finish one issue without something else. I know that is life but need to rant sometimes.

Re: Anyone dealing with Ulcerative Colitis with problems

Sorry they were rude and did not take note of your restrictions.  Very unsettling.

Perhaps it would be useful to have an visit prior just to confirm the plans?  I have to do with a Mammo due to my shoulder.

It also could be that he thought you were out of and could not hear him mumbling.  Once when I was having a bone rebroken, the last thing I heard was the surgeon yelling "Not THAT saw!"  😬

Hope next time is smoother.

@Still Raining : Thank you and totally agree and understand. I was still awake and trying to be put in the correct position for the colonoscopy. I saw and hear everything in the room.

That had to be scary to hear your doctor say that about the wrong saw.
I had a lot of orthopedic surgery because of cerebral palsy.

Re: Anyone dealing with Ulcerative Colitis with problems

@LuvSoCal @tansy @wagirl @Mom2Dogs @Still Raining . Hope that I included everyone that has helped me.
Woke up this morning to get ready for my doctor appointment. My face was swollen round and very beet red all over including my arms and not feeling great.

The nurse practitioner was very good and listening. Blood pressure spiked. She said both were side effects of the steroids. Everything returned to normal during the office visit. I asked her about blood pressure, blood work and IV's for my breast cancer right side. She stated that my doctor would recommend "no" because of all my medical issues and didn't want to risk adding another problem. Stated  only if it was a medical emergency just once to do the right arm. I totally agree.

I told her about my issues with my current gastroenterology and please start referrals for a new doctor. I hate changes but this one is necessary.

I appreciate all your help. Enjoy your evening.❤️

Re: Anyone dealing with Ulcerative Colitis with problems

@SouthernBee --how horrible for you!!! Geez--seems like the things that are SUPPOSED to help-- make you feel miserable before and if ,  they kick in !! I too, am a breast cancer survivor --mastectomy and lymph nodes removed on my left side so I have all that stuff done on my right arm. However--my preference for using my right arm and NOT my left arm is in my records., so that if I am not able to tell them, they will see it online.  Glad your nurse prac listened and very glad you are going to find another gastro guy. If there is one thing I learned from all the cancer zombie stuff--is that it is up to me to take control as much as I can!!! Those medical people---work for me !!! Hope you get to feeling better!! Keep us posted!!

Re: Anyone dealing with Ulcerative Colitis with problems

@wagirl : Totally agree and understand.

We really have to speak up about our medical history. I have stressed for all this information to well documented and followed.

I took a very long nap yesterday.

Then DH had phone call about a medical fraud issue that he is fighting with his insurance company. I took notes for him while he was talking on the phone. Trying to help him keep everything well documented. Medical test was done in another city using his name and insurance information. DH hasn't been to that city for any test. None of his doctors ordered the test. Very important to read all statements and details received.

I appreciate you and everyone's help.
