I was diagnosed in 2024. Made changes and thought I was doing good considering. December was due for colonoscopy. Test results revealed flare up totally inflammation. Currently on steroids, need to do stool test and blood work.I had absolutely no symptoms of any problems. No fever, no changes in bathroom schedule , no cramps or pain. Totally confused.
My gastro doctor was doing the colonoscopy but during prep made comments that I wasn't helping them get me in position for the test.I had just finished my two eye cataract surgery. I haven't seen him in a year because all appointments was with his nurse practitioner. Ready to look for another doctor.

@SouthernBee Sorry you are dealing with this issue, and the fact you don't have any symptoms seems odd.
I don't have any advise, as I don't have this issue but wondering about the comment about your doctor mentioning you were 'not helping getting in to position' for the colonoscopy...you were awake during the procedure?

@SouthernBee My opinion is LISTEN TO YOUR BODY! If the doctor's reccommendations /diagnostics DON'T MATCH YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH YOUR CONDITION, get another opinion.
If it were me, I would get all my med records from this doctor and find another to review your case.

@SouthernBee I can't offer any advice but I'm interested in your condition because I know someone who suffers from this and he was told that he would require some sort of intravenous treatments for the rest of his life and he's only 30!
May I ask how you keep your symptoms under control? Do you have a very restrictive diet?

@Mom2Dogs : Thank you.
My doctor has no understanding of me. I have low back and hip problems. Very difficult for me to roll over or pull my self in a higher position on the bed. The anesthesiologist and nurse was trying to get me in the correct position for the colonoscopy. I am a breast cancer survivor and mastectomy done on the right side and told never to have IV on this side. Doctor doesn't agree with this and stated the IV on the left side more difficult to position me for the colonoscopy. Plus the blood pressure cuff on the left side was tangled with the IV. The anesthesiologist was rolling me over on my back to untangle everything when my doctor was entering the area to do the colonoscopy. He was aggravated and snapped at me, anesthesiologist and nurse. The anesthesiologist stated : She is disabled and just had two surgeries in November and needing extra help.
In recovery the doctor quickly stated had detected grey areas and biopsies done and mentioned another medical issue that I didn't know. My husband was in the waiting room and I assumed my doctor talked with him but DH said : "no".
This doctor with my 2024 colonoscopy acted the same way. 2024/ 2025 was a lot of medical issues for me. I was in the process of changing my primary care doctor after 35 years. This year will be changing gastro doctors. Hope this isn't tool much info.

@LuvSoCal : This is so sad about your young friend. He will need a very dedicated and compassionate medical team.
Everyone is different and needs to find what works for them. I have been under a lot of stress. I can't stand up and doing a lot of cooking and ordering food. In 2024, I was making and eating a lot of salads, and vegetables, protein. I tried the home delivery prepared food but didn't find anything for all my food issues. Every thing is expensive but I need to do more research for better nutrition.

At least the nurse was confident enough to talk back to that clod of a gastroenterologist.
I would not go back to him but might doublecheck the advice about the no IV on the right side🤷♀️

@tansy :Thank you. I will be seeing my primary care doctor tomorrow and have a long list of questions including the one for IVS on the right side.
