I tried putting a spoonful of that stuff in my mouth a few years ago and just about thought I'd die from gagging and vomiting.  Thick oil just doesn't feel good in the mouth.  Ugh

Re: Anybody on the Castor Oil Bandwagon?

My dear mother told me that when she was a child every Friday night her mother gave all the kids Castor Oil.  There were 5 kids in the family and only one bathroom.  She said it was a less than pleasant experience to say the least.  Of course, we all know why it was given on Friday night instead of a school night.Smiley Surprised  She never gave it to me, thank goodness.

I read about that TikTok video going viral about putting castor oil in your belly button and there were so many contradictory articles saying how ridiculous it was. So many silly claims out there and so many gullible folks buy right into it.

I'm seeing all kinds of posts and videos about the wonders of castor oil.  If you're using it, how is it working for you?

@JeanLouiseFinch  I used to use castor oil as a facial mask but it has been a long time. I like it as an ingredient in lipstick/balms.

Re: Anybody on the Castor Oil Bandwagon?

I've had a little inflamation on my foot and have been rubbing it on my foot after my shower for the past month or so.  I am not sure if it is healing on its own or if the castor oil is helping, but I have seen improvement. The skin on my heals looks great!

I heard that if you rub a little on your eye lid and under your eye it  helps with dry eyes.  I keep meaning to give it a try but forget to do it before I go to bed.  I don't want to put it over my makeup during the day.

Back in the day, my dad took cod liver oil.  I have no memories of castor oil.

Never took it; don't plan to.  Not putting it in my belly button either.

Re: Anybody on the Castor Oil Bandwagon?

Does it make any sense that a medication or supplement would be absorbed into the body through a belly button?

I was subjected to a spoonful of castor oil as a child.  My mother would get obsessed with it every so often but only for me:/
