Anybody on the Castor Oil Bandwagon?

[ Edited ]

I'm seeing all kinds of posts and videos about the wonders of castor oil.  If you're using it, how is it working for you?

It's supposed to be a good remedy for constipation.  Better than laxatives.  And joint pain because it has anti inflammatory properties.  I don't take it but I've been thinking about it.

I was dosed with castor oil as a child and have no interest in repeating that experience as an adult!

I remember this oil from my childhood. Thankfully, my mother never made me take it, but many mothers did.

The mention of this oil will bring back the horror and nightmares for some.

I can do without it.

@chrystaltree  I think it's applied topically for that - not "taken", so to speak.  Maybe it's both. 🤷‍♀️. People are putting it in their belly buttons for their " plumbing", but they say to ease into it.

Re: Anybody on the Castor Oil Bandwagon?

I recently had my eyebrows waxed at Ulta, and I asked her about the lamination process.  I had my brows waxed several years ago, and the hair on one eyebrow didn't grow back in a little section at the end, so I was hoping for something to help me address that.  She told me that she didn't think I was a candidate for lamination and that I should just use castor oil.  I had never heard of that, but she told me to try it because she's seen it work for people like me.  It's on my shopping list!

What's old is new again. Like coconut oil and argan oil, cure alls for everything.

Keep in mind that even applied topically for brows, skin issues, etc that it gets absorbed by the body and can create it's well known laxative effect.

Me, too!  Mama put it on top of orange juice! Ugh!  It was years before I could drink orange juice without tasting it also!!

@Zhills

Mom learned not to dose both kids at the same time!
