I go for an MRI every year for the last 11 years  after my first diagnosis of breast cancer. My reoccurance was picked up on MRI 8 years after the first. I close my eyes and concentrate on my breathing until it's over. If you are really anxious a mild tranquilizer will be very helpful. Best of luck!!!!

Lots of great advice on what to expect. I've had several w/o a sedative and would ask to take a sedative for any future MRI.

Breathing slowly and thinking of a happy place or time, etc. Whatever works for you to stay relaxed. It can feel confining, but they do ask frequently you are ok. Good luck. You can do this.
