I go Friday for diagnostic mammo followed by an ultrsound. The tech told me I have extremly dense breast, some of the worst she has ever seen. She said its like I don't have any fat/tissue in my breast and its all whilte. Right breast was fine, they want another look at the left. Been trying to remain calm while waiting, hasn't been easy. I've only told my husband, just don't really want to talk about it much.
Been in your shoes 3 times over the years. It seems that they just need a closer look due to the density before they can sign off on it , I really would not worry. They are just protecting themselves.
@Shelbelle Thank you. I had not been for a few years, I got thermal imaging in the meantime and decided its time for a mammo since my Dr was nagging me. Got the 3D.
My dads mother had BC and my moms sister. My parents so far no cancers. I did BRCA 1 testing and it was negative but I might look into other gene testing.
@wagirl I remember your journey. I am so glad you got through to the other side and doing well now. I'm also glad your daughter is being checked often to be sure anything that shows up is caught early.
My sweet hubby is going with me, going to get me a latte on the way there, he is going to stay out with my dog until I am done. It will keep me calmer having my hubby and dog there with me. ![]()

Keep us posted, and dont worry, I have had radiologists say to me they are sorry to make me nervous but they need a closer look just to sign off on it to protect themselves, not really looking at anything in particular just a closer, more clear look. Density will dictate that need.

@Shelbelle Thank you for easing my mind a bit. I've been drinking stress tea all week! I'll for sure report back Friday afternoon after I'm back home. The two week wait has been so hard, at least work has helped me not think about it all day long!

@SandGirl ---good to have your favorite people...🐶... with you. And hope you report back when you can. Also need to remark about the phrase--they need to protect themselves--- by another poster----maybe so, to a certain point-- but my"team" was all about me at all times.I got more support from them, then from my now EX. anyway--good luck!!

@wagirl Thank you! I'll report back tomorrow afternoon. You and I are in the same state and I feel our state is one of the best to be in if you get a diagnosis. I know of people that would fly here for their treatments. I'm sorry about the EX, sometimes it takes something BIG to show peoples true colors. I am sure you are happier and much better off now. ((HUGS))

@SandGirl ---I didn't know you are a wagirl too--or maybe I did
--where are you? I am in Woodinville and I go to Evergreen Health for EVERYTHING.
A huge, RESOUNDING YES---about being much happier being single!!

Thanks to everyone that read and responded to my post. I did actually call and ask about an appointment sooner. I was kinda brushed off as this was the soonest one they have available. And the radiologist who is also a breast specialist apparently noted to schedule the next available appointment for me.
I know 4 other women going through the same thing. I've been through this more than once myself.
Maybe I shouldn't feel this way, but I am very Blessed to have good insurance and I wonder if maybe that weighs in their decision. I really am not worried and not decided whether I will even go to this appointment. Again, thanks for the suggestions and well wishes.

My friend had to pay $500 for an ultrasound from her call back, my call backs have always been paid for.

But before the team can be there 100% for the patient they first have to be 100% sure of their findings, protect themselves from a possible lawsuit and giving accurate info to patient.
