Dear Rebecca,
Thank you so much for your thoughtful post! Right now I do not have double vision, just blury in the left eye, bulging and dialated pupil. Neither of us can say when it became dialated but DH noticed it last week setting across from me at lunch. Yesterday it didn't look as dialated but it still is. I will go to an ER (there are plenty in Tucson) if it gets worce.
I guess I'm just used to eye pain and problems and never get any definative answers.
My new doctor seems to be on top of this and she probably will send me to another Neuro. The Neuro I saw has a great reputation and assured me that the pinal cyst had nothing to do with my continuing eye problems. The eye specialist (last year) did every test and gave me no answers except I had a bubble in one eye. He wanted me to have a needle treatment which I passed on and it resolved on it's onw. My attitude was that this too would resolve as well. I had no idea that a dialated pupil meant brain problems.
My friends here in our over 55 community all pretty much have health problems so no one that knows me seemed concerned. I am gratful to you, an on-line friend to encourage me. I will absolutely let you know how things turn out. Blessings to you and your loved ones!

Thank you so much! I wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving! I had a quiet, good day. Trying not to think about the possible outcome of my test.
I send blessings to every poster who helps another ![]()

Good Tuesday Morning,
My MRI is today at 3. Please keep a good thought for me, thanks. I'm also having an MRA (never heard of it) it is of the arteries around my bulging left eye.
I'll write when I have some answers and hope this will help someone else down the road.

Good Morning,
I got an email from the radioligy place and opened it as my doctor's office didn't call me even though they also got the reports. The Pineal cyst hasn't changed-good news! I have vessel Ishemic? Looked it up but I'm not sure what if anything can be done about this. Still don't understand why my eye is buldging and dialated. Maybe my doctor will call me back today. I called here twice yesterday.......
Thank you for your positive thoughts,
Cathy

My update is that the MRI & blood work was normal. Now to an eye specialist as the eye is still buldging and dialated, painful and blury vision. Doctor thinks it may be from being diabetic as A1C was still not in the 6-7 range so we are increasing my insulin.
Thank you,
Cathy

Though I copied this post due to the statement in red, I have read beyond it and it's still not clear whether you've had a decent conversation with your physician regarding the radiologist's report. BTW, you should have in your hand a copy of that very report. It is your property; and, you should return to the imaging center to order a copy of the MRI and any other studies dones, as well as corresponding radiologist's reports.
You indicated "vessel Ischemic" above. The term "ischemic" generally means lacking in oxygen, therefore possible loss of functionality at a gross or minisule level. However, when vessel ischemic is written, I'm literally wondering if there is a length, teeny to small that is not functioning at a very low level and may lose function altogether due to lack of oxygen. This does require immediate attention. An example for you if it were in the gut: if someone is diagnosed with a portion of ischemic bowel, a surgeon might very well surgically remove that diseased portion and re-anastamose the two ends together (suture the remaining 2 ends together).
If it were me, I'd seek clarification from your physicians as to what the radiologist meant by using the terms "vessel ischemic" and to which anatomic structure and where it is located. Also, to what degree is the structure - vessel? - affected? If it is moderate or greater, then one would naturally think about surgical intervention.
It appears you're finally going to see an ophthalmologist!!! Frankly, I'm surprised your doc didn't refer you previously, given that your symptoms haven't abated. Make sure you bring along the radiologist's report and a copy of all imaging studies, even if the ophthalmology works within the same healthcare system. You never know when systems will go down. With a CD, they are just stick it in a laptop and study the images without issue.
All the best of luck to you and God Bless.

Thank you for the thoughtful answer! When I saw my doctor yesterday she said what I have is "normal" for my age. A copy also was sent to my Neuro. I see my NP pain managment today who also worked in Neurology and I plan to ask her opinion as well.
This thought has walked through my mind and I asked a past Neuro while in Lexington if I was not a candidate for surgery (for the pinial cyst) because of my age or because my insurance which is Tricare Standard. This is the insurance DH earned from his 22 years of active duty in the Army. Could that be it? The doctor I asked gave me a " non answer " and DH was just as confused as I was.
I have all my past CT's & MRI's but haven't requested a copy of this last one but I will. It can be viewed by any medical staff on line because Radioligy LTD is accessable here.
My referral to the eye specialist should be here in a few days and maybe then I will have an answer.
Blessings and gratitude to all who took the time to write to me and I hope I can be of help to others in the same way.

Dear Pooky,
Thank you for writing to me and I am glad you have found a solution for your double vision! I was told in the past that I could not have prism glasses because my vision keeps changing as it corrects. I plan to ask this new eye doctor if that is true. Different doctors have different opinions and I may have been told the wrong thing.
My double vision right now is in distance but close up it isn't there. It's my left eye and if I look to my left everything splits no matter if it is close or far away. So wierd.
Blessings to all,
Cathy
