Re: Andrew Lessman's July TV Schedule

I purchased the Healthy Hair Skin and Nails directly from the Procaps website as the TSV was posted early there, and I received it today. Looks like the biotin levels went up this year. Previously it was 5000 mcg for 2 capsules and now it's 3000 mcg for just 1 capsule.

Re: Andrew Lessman's July TV Schedule

Most stores have several name brands of vitamins for Hair Skin and Nails.

The labels all seem to have the same things in them, in almost identical amounts.

Does anyone think AL's formula is any different?

I have both too. When Andrew first introduced the unscented, he said he was going to add a lavender and a peppermint. I had been checking to see if he added the lavender yet. I wonder what made him go with cucumber instead of lavender.

@CWS22 @Tinkrbl44 @Laura14 @tillyny @Teddie + ALL

I have been taking the Healthy Hair, Skin, Nails for almost two years.

Exactly 4 months after I began, my hair stylist (in for a cut) said I had a crop of 2-inch hairs on my scalp (had shoulder length hair then). Apparently 1/2 inch per month growth!

I rememer, however, Andrew at one of his presentations (always so useful) said that if you have been taking this for sometime, you could probably reduce to 1 a day rather than 2.

Based on the HEADS UP in this thread, I pulled out my current bottle and the new HSN label.

Screenshot 2025-07-19 at 7.04.23 PM.png

Wow.

Now, 1 a day.

SAME ingredients, but in a single pill you are getting different amounts.

OLD bottles for 2 capsoles:     *new is 1 capsole

C was 90 mg, new is 50

D3 was 5 mcg, new 10

B1, B2, Niacin, Pantothenic, & B6 was 3 mcg, now 2 mcg

B12 was 30 mcg, new still 30

Folate was 37, new still 37

Biotin was 5,000 mcg, new 3,000

MSN was 500, new 250

Silicon was 20, new 10

Gelatin 152, new 75

Lots to think about, but it fits with his earlier admission that after awhile, 1 is probably enough, rather than the label saying take 2.

I still have an unused bottle. Old.

But it isn't expensive.

So, just ordered the NEW.

Re: Andrew Lessman's July TV Schedule

Recently two weeks ago received reorder from ProCaps Laboratories on my healthy hair, skin & nails. Dosage (2) capsules everyday = 5000 mcg biotin. I've always taken (2) capsules will continue doing so both new bottles list dosage are (2) capsules = 5000 mcg one of the longest supplements from Andrew in my routine five years ago started my journey with his wonderful products to many list here.

Re: Andrew Lessman's July TV Schedule

@1Professor Thank you so much.🙏

I just pulled mine and I have the older version, which frankly I prefer. I don't like that the gelatin dropped that much and the silicon, although I do take MSM, too.

Like you, it's made a difference even with Italian heritage. Hair is something I do not lack, but it definitely started to show its (my) age as I hit 50. Not anymore!

Luckily, I ordered early and I have a year bottle or six months of the older version since I do take two (I found one capsule didn't do as much) before I have to make a decision.

Appreciate the tag and the info. ❤️

@Laura14

Like you, perhaps, I come from a family with thick hair.

My mother, however, as she aged, had people tell her what thick hair she had—but she began replying, "No, it's now thinner." She knew.

So, as I am happily aging, I wanted to give my scalp and hair follicles whatever might help them endure a bit longer.

One additional factor, however, concerns me about taking 5,000 every day—if that isn't actually needed:

BIOLOGICAL ADAPTATION.

Our bodies adapt to medications, which is why doctors monitor and often have to increase or simply change a prescription to something else.

The same medication, when taken daily, is not going to keep having the same effect. So I try to take the lowest dose of anything that I can, and the least often.

I also have great respect for Lessman.

If 3000 is enough, that's probably what I should take.

     The thing about Biological Adaptation is that people often don't notice it. Doctors do. Checkups. Blood tests annually.

+++

FUN FACT: There is also HEDONIC ADAPTATION.

(Hedonism, pleasure.)

Things we really really loved, we suddenly notice we don't have that same pleasure from them.

Favorite foods, snack foods, clothes we bought MANY of, games we play.

Our brains are stingy about producing the pleasure chemicals, especially DOPAMINE. We only get short spurts of dopamine.

    So I forgive myself for not loving something in the same way after I bought it . . . Smiley Happy

(Great point on the gelatin!)
