Agreed!  People hear on the news that people need to take Vitamin D, so they take it and then there's the whole "more is better" attitude.

My mother's husband practically killed himself with Vitamin C.  He was taking obnoxious amounts to the point where he was getting nose bleeds constantly.

More is not better.

well what is scary is all the people on the comment section of the blog post stating they are going to get the 2000 Vitamin D3 without hesitation.  That is an awful lot and I am sure most aren't checking with their doctors. Like you said, they think more = better. I am not a "run to your doctor for everything" kind of person either but with these newer studies out, people need to be more careful about what they are doing. They truly could be doing their body more harm than good.

I am still undecided about the CoQ10. Ubiquinol is the more readily available form for the body and this one doesn't contain that form. I know it is more expensive to do the ubiquinol but I'd rather pay a little more and get the more bio-available form than pay less and not have my body able to utilize it as well or as much.

Willdob3, I don't have low D3, but I take AL's Essential Daily Vitamin and CoQ10.  If they add a lot of D3 to the CoQ10, I will have to alternate. I don't want to OD on D!

Thanks, VaBelle. I will ask to have it checked this fall.  As I replied to Wildbob3, I may have to alternate my vitamins unless there is a CoQ10 without D. I would think many AL users would have the same issue.

@philogirl Andrew is going to offer the COQ10 in 3 versions including one that does not contain any D3 at all. That is probably what you would want to get.

I'm keeping my D3 level closer to 70 ng/ml. I have the labs done to check it. I take 5500 IU's per day. Last year it was down. I stopped taking 1 capsule so I could see what the labs would show taking less. It did go down so I'm sticking to the 5500 IU's. When I have my labs done again if it's where I need it I can keep taking this amount.

My sister is an internist and said it's hard to overdose on vitamin D.  I'm not sure I'd worry about a 2,000 IU daily dose, though my own doctor (my sister's henchman) advised me to take 1,000.

I have Lessman's coQ10, but I don't take it that often.  I really should.  I wish I could just put vitamin powder into my morning coffee for all the supplements I should take.  Then I would take them every day.

@philogirl The CoQ10 does not contain any D3. When you order the CoQ10 you get a free bottle of D3 in your choice of 1000 or 2000 IU's.

From his blog --

We will have 5 sizes of each formula, CoQ10 on its own or with 1000 IU OR 2000 IU of Vitamin D3?

I have a few powder and liquid supplements & I really like those forms.  Very easy to take. The ones I have are pure, no fillers. Some I mix in liquid, others I just put in my mouth & drink water afterward.

I've been taking the K2 MK7 since he released it, so I will be interested to see if that helps my D levels this year.
