I'm not opposed to people posting about their health situations. However, I'm now skeptical of this carnivore diet after @Trinity11 took the time to watch it, and poked some big holes into what was discussed.
I hate to say this, but it's almost like this has become a religion to the OP. Shouldn't we be doing more with our lives than being obsessed with a particular diet? Granted, the numbers @Susan Louise provides are astonishing, but what about in the future? Kidney damage has been mentioned by others. Sure, make changes as needed, but moderation seems to be the key in life.

@Susan Louise Do you mind me asking how you get all the nutrients you need to prevent osteoporosis? Doesn't seem to be much calcium in meat unless you binge on sardines.
@lizzys - I'm pretty sure the carnivore way of eating allows for some cheese, maybe Greek yogurt (not sure on the yogurt). I've seen many carnivore videos where the people include multiple eggs at a meal. I'm assuming, between the dairy and eggs, that's where they get their calcium. Whether it's enough for the RDA, I suppose it would depend on the individual's consumption. As for Vitamin C and others vitamins and minerals, electrolytes, that may be missing in protein consumption alone, I'm also assuming the individual would have to take supplements to make up for any deficits. Hence, my preference for the ketogenic plan where I include a variety of vegetables and berries. And I still take some supplements.
I had bloodwork done last week and everything they looked for was in the normal range. My remaining kidney is checked anually and it's fine too. I'll get it done again in August.

I just brought a cookbook of his from the library today @bikerbabe. Wouldn't know where to get some of the ingredients, and doubt I could follow his diet for even a few days. The reason I picked it up is that while waiting for our new appliances to be delivered, I sat here with my tablet, and a video of his came up. His credentials were impressive, but I lost interest as I watched.

Sorry for a slight topic change. @Trinity11, I had conversed with you on another wellness forum, but can no longer find your name. Do you think fasting glucose numbers in the morning are supposed to be the lowest of the day for most people? I've tried to find answers, but it seems confusing. My doctor's nurse seems to think so, but I read wake-up hormones can cause it to run higher. She just said "wait until your next A1C".
I'm diligently trying to cut carbs and sugar. I'm finding my lowest blood sugar numbers to be before eating lunch and dinner (usually 90 to 103). In the mornings, I'm between 115 and 125. I guess I don't understand why health exams always require fasting blood work.

It sounds like you are dealing with "The Dawn Phenomenon. " Blood sugar shoots up during the hours of 4 AM and 9 AM. Eating fewer carbohydrates at dinner often helps but not entirely. I often wake up at 5 AM and give myself a few units of short acting insulin to counteract it but Type 2 diabetics struggle also with it. I was taught not to concentrate on a small rise between bedtime readings and morning readings. The overall 3 month A1C is most important. I also highly recommend the book "Think Like A Pancreas." Written by a Type 1 diabetic but highly informative and descriptive in regards to high morning readings @AuntG .

I adore food too much to restrict myself to just one type of food or category. I exercise hours every day so I can have meat, veg. and bread. Not to mention salt and sugar. I love it all and think about it while I am exercising every morning and on my non eating lunch hour.

Thank you @Trinity11 . I've got the revised edition of the book on hold at the library. I hope they'll label me as pre-diabetic next Monday, but I need to become educated on the illness, in case I eventually need medication.

@AuntG Ask your doctor If the nurse isn't sure of an answer, ask to speak to the doctor or ask her to check with him/her and call you back. An online forum is NOT a good source for scientific information related to your health.
