I have had no adverse effects, but am looking forward to the first blood test after starting this product. The test will be done sometime next month.
I also take his chocolate product that has CholstaCare in it and usually have his oatbran or oatmeal each morning, which also has CholstaCare in it.
My test results should be really good with all the things I have each day with CholestaCare in it! ha!
Andrew's chocolate product is AWESOME!!! I almost bought the ts but feared the temptation would be too great.....

@Trudey wrote:@MaggieMack @qvcaddition Thank you for responding. I also looked everywhere to determine if my symptoms were related to Cholestacare or plant sterols in general and could find nothing. It is odd that the ingredients aren't listed nor are they available to review.
I'm trying to get my cholesterol down before my next doctor's appointment in August because she is going to prescribe statins otherwise. My cholesterol issues are genetic and even though I've lost 60 pounds and am exercising almost everyday, my levels have increased significantly.
Are your ratios good? What number caused the total number to go up? When did it start going up?
I'm asking because significant weightloss/fat loss such as yours can cause cholesterol levels to increase temporarily. This is generally an increase in LDL and it is a normal part of the fatloss process. The fat doesn't just evaporate, you surely know. lol...
Anyway, if this describes your high cholesterol (good HDL, low triglycerides, increasing LDL, impressive ratios) it is nothing to be concerned about. LDL tends to start decreasing again after about 6 months of maintained/stable weight.
And, if this does fit your situation, your doctor may not be aware of it (let's face it, how often do doctors see weight loss success stories?) so you might need to educate him.
My LDL went up with my extreme weight loss. My doctor attempted to put me on drugs because of it (bad call from any doctor these days.) but my insurance company rep was thrilled and amazed at my ratios, knew all about the weightloss/increased LDL issue and gave me a discount for being so healthy! And my total and LDL were way up there at the time!
Disclaimer: The whole pile of cholesterol - good/bad indifferent - is based on an incorrect science theory (proven wrong decades ago) anyway and should be taken for what it is.

I take cholestacare with fibermucil. I take 2 packs a day (one cholestacare and 2 fibermucil per pack). I take one with breakfast and one with dinner.
I was only on it for a couple of months when I had my first blood test, so there was no real change that year. The second year I saw a change but I also did a complete diet overhaul (started following Primal Blueprint).
I think best results will be 2 a day plus fiber mucil. The box says no need to take more than 3 a day as there is no additional benefit to more than 3 cholestacare a day.

My HDL is 85, which is great according to DR. When I lose weight, total goes down. I tried Statins, and they hurt my bones a lot. Some of us have the gene and not the way we eat. I still do a lot of exercise. Today five miles bike, four miles walking, and the gym for weight training. I also took out the trimmers and trim six bushes. Been exercising for 57 years. The only time my chlorestral was low is when I jogged eight miles a day for six days a week. My weight was also very low, no body fat. At 80, I can,t do that anymore, but I do exercise everyday.

@willdob3 Thank you for your very interesting response. When I had my cholesterol checked in January, my LDL had increased significantly and my triglycerides were perfect. My doctor didn't even mention that weight loss could cause this temporary hike. Hopefully, mine will level out some before August.

@Ibby114 Wise move! It is the BEST chocolate I have ever tasted. I am a true chocoholic! I must confess, I purchased four containers. Have already gone thru one since February and joyfully going thru the second one.
I talked with ProCaps customer service to determine if you can eat too many......would it be detrimental because of the ingredients. She laughed and said "only to your waistline, as they each have 26 calories!"
She also said that five a day is enough to get the desired results. Anything over that will not make the product more beneficial. I've tried to cut back to one after each meal, which I understand is the same as having one of his CholestaCare pills. But, I have no problem sneaking in another one or two! ha!

@Shelbelle just curious, why two products and why isn't the one enough? I am thinking of trying this (after I finish my chocolate one from Andrew) and am just wondering. Thanks

Jud, the Cholest Wise is much more expensive and contains more different ingredients than the plain Double Strength Phytosterol Complex, so I just divide the 2 up to give me 3 grams per day, in Lessmans formula that would be 7 to 8 pills a day. I usually take the CholestWise, 3 of them before lunch and 2 of the other one before dinner. I dont eat breakfast. Taking 5 or 6 of the Cholest Wise daily may be more of its other ingredients then are needed. Hope this explains it. Cholest Wise also contains garlic, niacin, policosinol, and fish oil.
