It sounds like its working for you! Congratulations.

I'm adding more fresh veggies & fruit to my diet with the NutriBullet 900.

My Aunt started the 2 weeks ago. She sees the son of Dr McDougall. The consulation was 45 minutes and she has a coach or mentor. I can't remember the exact title. She's been morbidly obese for all of my 55 years. Her doctor referred her. He told her, this is her best chance or die. She has so many health issues because of her weight. She is very impressed with the Dr, mentor and the entire program.

My hopes and best wishes for your aunt. If she stays faithful, it WILL work, and her weight loss can give her the incentive to "live" this rather than "diet" with it. Life in a body that is morbidly obese is not something anyone wants.

Thank you!

She has tried everything. WW, JC, NutriSystem etc... you name it she did it. Maybe she'd lose 50-75# but it was never anything she could maintain.

She's going into it a step at a time. She's lost some weight already.

When she asked her mentor if she could eat yogurt. She said "yogurt makes you fat. look at cows" "sorry, I will be blunt with my answers"

That gave me a giggle. To her mentor: News Alert...Cows don't eat yogurt.

100% RAW VEGAN here....90% carbs...5% protein...5% fat.

Lifestyle of ABUNDANCE!!!!! I am 5'8" and weigh 107lbs...I eat 3 meals a day consisting of roughly 1000 calories per meal. I choose to drink smoothies for 2 of those meals...I'm easy because when I like something I stick with it...loving it...

SMOOTHIES:

6 bananas approx 600 cals

6 medjool dates approx 450 cals

water to cover all

blend in high power blender like vitamix or professional ninja

ENJOY!!!!

***I soak dates over night...blend in the soaking water before adding bananas and more water:soaking makes the dates more blendable and the smoothie creamier.

Ends up being about 145 oz.

SAME FOR LUNCH...and HUGE!!!! salad for dinner with romaine and mixed greens, tomatoes, cauliflower...which I quickly pulse in blender...grated carrots, and raw corn cut off the cob...I make my own dressings!

Only difficult part is eating ENOUGH!!! That is why I choose smoothies...so I can make them calorie dense.

LOW FAT HIGH CARB VEGAN DIET....

Don't fall into the fat trap...don't buy the "healthy Fat" myth...yes, better to eat nuts/seeds avocado than oils...but...fat is fat!!!

FABULOUS LIFESTYLE!!!

This is great, I could so do this. Do you change it up to get more variety in your day or is this pretty much what you eat every day. So, breakfast and lunch are the same? If you work, do you make it ahead and just bring it to work? I assume no snacks? I don't think you would need them.

Would love to know where you found all this, sounds amazing. I hear so much about how we should have coconut oil and fish oils for our hair, brains, skin, heart. So confused!! Thanks for your input Smiley Happy

I am the same height as you and weight 40 pounds more than you but, I do lift heavy weights and do P90X & Body Beast so I do have a lot of muscle mass.....I am thinking with all the weights I do, I could never do away with the protein, I use a plant based protein supplement right now (SunWarrior Warrior Blend)

Karen - is this diet new to you? How long have you been on it? Weren't you on the Dr Oz Detox diet not to long ago?? Maybe that was a diff. thread, just thought I remember seeing a thread about the Oz Detox diet you were on.
