I hesitate to do an ‘Opinion Piece’ to answer your questions
on the way of eating I’ve chosen. IMO, this thread is not about that.
My gut says, once the doors open for strong & opposing popular
opinions, IMO the thread will kinda/sorta lose the uplifting intentions

@sidsmom 0h, did not mean to offend. Please forgive me! I was truly interested in your opinion as I value it. I just felt like perhaps if I learned more about your chosen way of eating, I could make the jump and commmit to that. I think I am very close to making such a choice.
I think your idea of a plant based diet thread is terrific! I will be over there and learn more at that time.

I almost didn't log in here today, because I needed to do some more Mayo Clinic Diet reading and journal entry, plus additional research for recumbant bikes with my husband. And, make a multi-day lunch.
Well, I logged on and now don't know that I'll be back.
Just read the entries in the last 18 or so hours and you'll come to know what I'm talking about. All of a sudden a person has created discord, which was carried through to additional posts.
That's not what I came here for. If this continues, I'm gone.

The Plant Based News Thread has been around for a few months (or longer).
Lots of discussion of plant based eating.

I also have a plant based thread I began in July when I decided to go stricly plants.
I don't think we need a NEW thread on the topic. Those of us interested in that way of eating just keep adding to those threads.

Today, I got some exercise and ate healthy. Dinner will be 2 vegetables and a portion of fillet of sole. A small salad to accompany my meal. I weighed in this morning and 2 pounds are gone. I thank everyone here for motivating me.

Salmon, tuna, tilapia, etc. are great sources of the Omega 3's and 6's consiered so important for cardiac health. This link might provide info on plant-based foods that provide a good source of omega 3, etc. fatty acids. You could, of course, also take a supplement.

Was it my asking about the plant based diet? I guess I had questions and should have went to the plant based thread. It is good that you say something so we stay on track. I hope you stay and help keep this thread from taking detours as you said. We need your involvement to do this. Have a great night!

Checking in with everybody. DH and I were in NYC today. My tracker registered 12,453 steps. And right now I am relaxing on the couch ![]()
Steps were good but my first gulps of water were at 3 pm and nothing much after that. I own this, it is all my fault.

This person has caused negativity for eons on the boards and I simply cannot go near it any longer. Need to wait and see.
I'm glad you had a really good day. Tomorrow we're going to ******'s Sports, etc., to purchase a Schwinn Model 270 recumbant exercise bike. I can't wait to get on it and get going!!!!!! And, my wide shoes will finally fit, as it has a wider and long foot pedal. Yay! Just that and the larger and nicely padded seat were sellers, aside from all of the bells and whistles, electronic-wise.
We're having spinach and whole wheat lasagna tonight for dinner. I know I'm going to love it, but my husband will complain all the way. I'll send him to the dungeon with a "Huzzah!" to boot.
