Thanks bebe!!

I'm so happy that I got TT, I didn't get upset that I missed the other two.  I hope my bipolar hair doesn't revolt against TT.

SG is specific gravity.  That's the density of a liquid.  That's actually the only test that I needed to do.

GC/MS is gas chromatograph/mass spectrometer.  That tells me what is in the bottle.  It doesn't (nor should it) match what's on the label.  Only the oils stay intact because they take a lot of energy to change.

For both tests, I took 50 different 1 microliter samples from various zones in the gallon bottles and my QVC 32 ounce bottle and compared them.  Every sample matched.

I did this one weekend at a local university chemistry lab.  It took about 9 hours.

Honny, I just geeked out in the best way at your reply! That is so cool. I'm ultimately a humanities person by both training and trade, but I have such a crush on the sciences (especially epidemiology and public health!). You rule.

Oh, yis, thank you Heart

I've always been a science geek: science and engineering high school; chemistry in undergrad; engineering in grad school; a lab environment for work...I love it!

I have a field day when my boys have to come up with ideas for science experiements.  Them, not so much.

The university where I prof is STEM oriented with a strong focus on engineering. What an amazing field! Your boys will know how lucky they are eventually. I can't wait to read more about your science-y take on Wen stuff.

HoneyBrown, I'm also a liberal arts girl (I just didn't have the scientific know how) but I love understanding how things work. I think it's so cool that you spent 9 hours conducting Wexperiments at a university. That's time well spent!!!

For years, I've a huge crush on Neil deGrasse Tyson (what a great name!!),the astrophysicist who is in charge of the planetarium at the Museum of Natural History. He was on The Charlie Rose Show (PBS) for an hour about a week ago. I also have had a huge crush on Charlie for about 20 years. So I was in hog heaven for the interview.

With his no nonsense, aw shucks attitude he makes science really accessible. He lost me now and than during his Cosmos series on Fox, but it was soo cool that astrophysics was on FOX!!

OMG the Notorious NDT is EVERYTHING!! I adore him!! He is so smart, kind, and thoughtful. My nephew (a baby science genius kid) might be his biggest fan. He saw him speak recently and he is even better in person. Plus, he is a babe now, but look at younger pictures too. If you will pardon my saltiness - humina humina! Heart

That's so cool, yis, you mold young minds!  My boys get a blank look on their faces whenever I start talking science.  I try to make it fun for them though.

hi bebe!

The time spent in the university chem lab was not expected.  I didn't expect to get the work done in an hour, but 9 was too much.  And to top it off, I was by myself.  The work was very repetitive.  It was well worth it it though.  Time well spent!

I remember Charlie Rose!  I can't blame you for having a crush on him.  Have you ever met him in person or been on his show?

I've actually have met him and he's charming in person. He's even cuter than he is on his show (but... he's had a steady girlfriend for a few decades now). My parents have a local cable TV show and they once had the opportunity to interview him (I only found out about this years later). My jaw dropped when my mom told me that they passed on him. She only vaguely knew who he was. lol, what was she thinking?!!

P.S. As much as I like Charlie, NDT makes my knees wobbly. I've never met him, but I sure would like to. He's happily married, which makes me happy because he's such a happy go lucky, goofy, geeky, cute and funny guy!!

P.P.S. HoneyBrown, now I'm even more impressed knowing that you followed your Wexperiment to it's successful conclusion!!!

That's awesome you met Charlie in person!  Your crush is competing with his girlfriend...it's time for her to step aside!
