How do you know, if it was 5 years old? Does it show the date somewhere on the bottle or a number code, leading to the date of issue? Or how can you tell Wen's age?

If you look on the bottom of the bottles, it will have a series of numbers. One set is the item/stock number and the other is the production date. For example...my 2oz Remoist has 82136 (identifies the product) and 140707 is the production date. 14 represents year 07 is month and 07 is day. Hence July 7, 2014 is when it was made.

I'm sure there are legit sellers on eBay and Amazon, I just wouldn't know who they are. For that reason, I stick with Chaz Dean Studio and QVC.

Thanks w84WEN, you're sweet she is someone I purchased from on ebay & also caution's about date stamps. So it looks like the date is printed sorta backwards, instead of mo/day/yr it's yr/mo/day. So good to know

What is fake Wen? It's a product sold as Wen that isn't actually made by Wen. It could be a mix of anything. Chaz shared in the past they sent some suspect samples to be analyzed and they were not Wen.

When I sold my WEN in the past, I posted a picture of the code on the bottom of the bottles for just that reason and made sure to send the right bottle to the right person.  (What a PITA that is!)

People who know WEN know to ask for the code.

The fakers are pretty good at trying to make the packaging look real. The bottles themselves are very easy to get and you can print up copies of the real product labels.
