Re: WEN Models Cleansing and Styling Routine

World Traveler, you hair looks GREAT!!!!  WOWEE!!!!

I fell in love with Indigo and got it on auto delivery.  I got my last one a few days ago.  I fell in love with Sugar Plum too...I love the scent.  I'm obsessed with the new one for the results.  Gave my hair lots of body and bounce.  So good to see you here again...

Re: WEN Models Cleansing and Styling Routine

Hi @World Traveler ! I'm reporting back after changing my routine! LOL!

After seeing your chart I realized I was probably using too much. I can't remember if I said this before, so if I did I apologize! I cleanse twice a week, so it's been about 4 times. My first cleanse is always Pomegranate or Tea Tree. My second is usually a seasonal.

I was using 12 pumps from the 32 oz. for my first cleanse, and the same for the second, letting it stay in of course as Chaz recommends. After rinsing completely I was using 2 pumps as a leave in, followed by styling cream and mousse.

I cut everything in half, and eliminated the mousse for a while. It made SUCH a difference! Since starting with WEN over 10 years ago, I was always afraid I wasn't using enough!

My second cleanse right now was Winter Sugar Plum. I ran out yesterday morning, so I will be using one of the 3 spring seasonals I have.

I talked to my longtime stylist about the mousse. He knows I'm crazy about WEN and I won't use anything else! So he indulges my obsession! And I never have any problems with my hair's condition when I go in for my color and cut. He is the one who advised me to take a break for a while from the mousse. He said it's weighing my hair down.

So I'm pretty happy with everything. My hair is changing though. I have had bangs forever, and now I have developed a cowlick! It's right in front, so I can't wear bangs any longer. I do sweep my hair to the side, and the cowlick is on the other side, so I can live with it. I asked him why I had one after all of this time. He replied, "It's just part of getting older." Great!  Smiley Wink

@beach-mom   Hi!   WOW! Love the information you posted. Sounds like you have found a routine that works best for your needs. Sometimes it just takes a trial and error approach.

When I was using mousse, I didn't have a problem with it weighing my hair down; however, I wanted to cut down on the ancillary products and find that just using about a nickel's worth of his Re-Moist can replace styling cream and mousse.  I rake it lightly thru my hair and then either let it air dry or I use Chaz's wonderful hairdryer. One 8-ounce jar lasts a full year, using it daily.

I have never needed to take a break from using WEN like some do. Never had a problem after using it for years like some do. It has been good for my hair! 😁

By the way! I always appreciate your TSV reports. It's the last thing I check in the evenings. ❤️

Re: WEN Models Cleansing and Styling Routine

@World Traveler - I have Remoist! I got it once a while ago, but never used it. I will try your routine with it.

Thank you for your kind comment about the TSV! I started when I wanted to buy a Denim and Co. jacket that had been a TSV, and I wanted to read reviews. I put it in the search bar, and so many choices came up, all saying "Denim and Co. TSV"! I checked the first three or so then gave up! I would be checking all night!

I always like to check the TSV's anyway, so I decided to post them - with the DATE- to make it easier to find in the future.  Smiley Happy

@beach-mom  When you try it, try not to get the Re-Moist on your scalp. Whatever amount you decide on, just rub it between your palms, then run your hands thru your hair, and comb thru to distribute evenly and thoroughly.

The thing I like best about using this product is that it gives so much volume to the hair. If I air dry it and then go thru it with a brush, it feels and looks thicker. And If I use the hairdryer on it and not air dry, it also makes my hair puff up, be fuller after styling it.

The nickel-size amount I use is for my very short hair. Your hair is longer, so you will want to use more. Just play around with it and see what amount works for you.

The way I found out about how this works was when I was using the Re-Moist just as a hair treatment once or twice a week. I would put it on in the evening and either put something over it so the pillow wouldn't get yucky or I would do it early enough that it dried before I went to bed.

It was when I brushed it out after drying (instead of rinsing it out) that I first experienced the fullness it brings. I was blown away. Have never looked back!

Let me know if you do try it that way and what you experienced.
