I've never tried it. Should I? I use mostly seasonals as my second cleanse, and either SAM or Pom for my first. My hair is normal, but color treated. Somewhere along the line I got the idea that tea tree, as the most astringent, might strip my color a little, but I'm not sure.
So if you use it, how do you use it? TIA!
(I also thought it would be good for DS. Right now he uses SAM.) ![]()

@beach-mom Tea Tree is not the most astringent....that's Cucumber Aloe. Tea Tree is what Chaz calls a "problem solution" formula. If you have scalp issues--dry, itchy, flaky, irritated-- it's especially good. I find it moisturizing for my hair, and it just seems to kick my results up a notch. When I use it, I just add a couple pumps to whatever else I'm using.
Just as an FYI...the scent can be a little overwhelming until you get used to it!

I only use the Tea Tree on my scalp and use another on the rest of my hair - this is my first cleanse. Second cleanse I use whichever seasonal suits my fancy! HTH

I use it and like it. I don't use it alone and use it in combination, mostly with Fig. If I wash twice, I might use Tea Tree on my scalp and Fig on the length and the do a second wash with just Fig. (I really need to Fig for moisture and my hair suffers if I go without it for more than a few weeks.)
I don't think it strips color from my hair, but I color my hair red with a drugstore box and there's never been anything I've used that's prevented my color from fading from the day I color to the day I recolor. Generally speaking, I do avoid using Tea Tree the first week after I've colored, but I don't notice that it starts fading more quickly once I reintroduce tea tree.

I use tea tree often as my 1st cleanse. I use tea tree and BGT most often as my 1st cleanse with a seasonal as my second cleanse mixed with a small amount of 613. I also have one 16 oz of cucumber aloe that I use occasionally. I also currently have in my stash MIF and FF formula that I haven't opened yet.

TT is my go-to 1st cleanse, has been forever.
I use 5 32oz pumps on my 1-2" past shoulder length hair, my hi-lights have never faded.
My formula is 2-3 pumps of TT and mix in 1-2 pumps of 613.
2nd cleanse is usually a seasonal SHP mostly mixed with a pump of BGT.

I have oily scalp that tends to get flaky. I always use TT as my first cleanse. Then I use a seasonal for my second cleanse. I also do TT oil treatments on my scalp every week or two. I like the results and I've even gotten used to the smell.

I wish they would make a rice or soy version of Tea Tree <sigh>. My hair doesn't do well with wheat and I'm jealous of those of you that can get the scalp treatment from it.

For as long I remember I've been using TT for part of my first cleanse. Once I. Awhile I will switch it up with BGT for a few cleanses.

@beach-mom, if you're curious about the Tea Tree (TT) CC, then I really think that you should give it a try. ![]()
When I started using Wen, I only had the six Classic line CCs to choose from and, very quickly, the TT CC became my "go to" CC. ![]()
From what I've read, the TT CC seems to work well for almost everyone. lol, I think it's the most "universal" of the Universal CCs. ![]()
I don't use TT CC anymore because the Restoratives/Seasonals/613 provide additional treatment ingredients for my baby fine hair.
The TT CC did the best job (of all the Classic CCs) of normalizing the oil production of my naturally oily scalp. -- But when I realized that the overnight Tea Tree/Eucalyptus Treatment Oil did an even better job of normalizing my scalp's oil production, I was able to switch over to the Restoratives/Seasonals/613 CCs.
@beach-mom, you might want to try the WEN by Chaz Dean Sweet Almond Mint & Tea Tree Auto-Delivery since you already use the Sweet Almond Mint (SAM) CC. -- The duo is a great value, since each 16oz CC is just $20 (plus $1.50 S&H). This duo is also still available on an open-ended auto-delivery plan. FYI, since you like the SAM CC and the Pomegranate (POM), they have a similar WEN by Chaz Dean SweetAlmondMint &PomegranateDuo Auto-Delivery open-ended auto-delivery plan for $40. -- These two A/D plans are hold overs from years back. ![]()
@GoochiePooDoo, it really is a shame that Chaz hasn't also made a rice-based TT CC formula because the TT CC really is great. -- That said, I think that your scalp would get most of the TT CC benefits by simply doing overnight Tea Tree/Eucalyptus Treatment Oil scalp treatments (like I do these days *s*). ![]()
