@sunshine45 July and August are traditionally Chaz-less at the Q. After spending nearly the entire month of June at QVC, he vacations in July, and then tends to his other business/charity interests. He IS usually on-air for the debut of the fall seasonals, but he had a scheduling conflict this year. He will be at QVC on Friday, then back again in early October. His absence in July and August had NOTHING to do with "declining sales and bad press".

For those who don't know, these lawsuits have been ongoing since at least 2014 (and may go on for awhile longer, these things often go on for several years). They've just recently been splashed over the media, don't know why it took them so long to get hold of the story...unless it was the FDA getting involved.

hi @vermint

yes, someone earlier explained that chaz takes off for july and august. however, the 2nd quarter sales are the ones in question.....and they have taken a hit according to mike george. that would include april, may, and june sales.....sales down for that quarter (for whatever reason, although mike george did say "customer complaints") and no chaz during july and august and half of september probably means a large drop in sales for at least 5 months of 2016 so far.

a relatively new lawsuit against qvc and chaz as joint defendants popped up in march 2016 also.

The only decrease possible during that timeframe would be the gallons in June. As Chaz is there in March and then not again until June (yearly scheduled times). As even us Wenners discussed this year our gallon purchases were down as we are either fully stocked or looking forward to the new gallons coming out around the year. This information was announced late last year/early this year so the first chance to see the effect in classic gallon sales would have been this past June.

So as much as people want to speculate that this is a sign of decreased Wen business it may simply be a shift in purchasing habits due to the new information. Personally, I didnt purchase my usual gallons during June because the ones coming in October will better fit my needs.

Many of us Wenners are shifting from Wen Classics (the gallons offered in June) to more of the restorative, rice based and Seasonal lines (gallons offered at other times during the year). At roughly $200 a gallon, that shift could very well be the source of the total sales dent.

We can all speculate all we want, none of us are at the top at QVC.

I for one would not be sad to lose some of these tedious presentations done over and over on the same old products. And that includes the beloved wen "shampoo".

There are lots of new things out there, would be nice to see some new lines at the Q.

Sorry... did logical reasoning just knock the wind out of your sails or something? Geez, so sorry to rain on your "Hate Wen" parade!

Ok, back to applying my Wen oils to keep my scalp and hair healthy and growing thick and long! I love those "shampoo" presentations, and all the tips we get.

Oh my, wasn't even thinking like that, but I guess you have just given me yet another reason to have the Q drop vendors and lines.

If that statement wasnt directed at my post, my apologies.

@nikki48 No harm no foul! Not directed at your post at all! Just a general comment about QVC and their business, I wouldn't mind seeing a total re-vamp of all products and vendors.

A complete re-tool wouldn't bother me at all....Woman Very Happy

I do think its about shipping.   Why take a chance on trying things when you will lose the shipping costs and have to pay return shipping when you have other options that sell the same goods.   Amazon Prime gets most of my purchases.

I know for me alot of my reasons for not buying more from QVC are:

a.) high shipping costs and no discount or free ship for orders over a certain amount like almost every.single other online retailer offers - also the cost to return items whereas many retailers offer free returns.

b.) their prices are not usually much of a discount, especially given the fact that pretty much every other online retailer offers discounts and coupon codes that are deeper discounts than what QVC offers. Even the other shopping channels, Evine and HSN,  send out coupon codes or offer free shipping frequently whereas QVC thinks that customers should be thankful for their easy pays which don't benefit anyone, from afinancial  standpoint, then QVC.

Even the one nice perk QVC did a few times a year a few years back where if you bought a gift card for, say, $100 you got a $25 gift card or for every $50 in gift cards you bought you got a $10 gift card went by the wayside a few years ago. What a shame. And I bought more from QVC then than I had before and then I have since.

QVC will continue to decline in sales until they start getting with the program and realizing that with this new fangled thing called the "internet," shoppers have much more options- and better options- than QVC. I think their loyal fan base has gotten older now and that was the big chunk of their sales so now that their losing that fan base, they have to understand that today people aren't loyal to any one company- that what matters most to MOST people is a good deal, low prices, fair s/h cost, timely arrival of items, good customer service and quality products, most of which QVC does NOT have, imo.
