Package Handed Off To Post Office

I hope this time my orders don't get lost.  When they come UPS, no problem but QVC does not give you the option of choosing.  They choose for you.  I would be willing to pay a few bucks extra to have UPS all the way.

I placed an order in November, I didn't get it until January.  It got lost at the post office.  First of all, they sent me the wrong items.  I immediately sent them back with an explanation to just take this back and send me the correct order.  They did but it took that long.  The second one got lost, I kept asking where is it but they said it's lost, we'll send you another, which they did but it took that long.

Years ago, QVC would just send it UPS, now it's UPS handed off to the post office.  Our postal system is AWFUL.  We are last on the route.  We get our mail 6:30 to 7:00 pm.  Now there is the odd miracle we get it between 4:00 to 5:00pm.  I sure hope my orders don't get lost.  One got shipped, the other isn't out yet.  Too soon, I orderd the Love duo so that won't go out for a bit.  Hoping My PJP order gets here soon!!!

@77yangya

If you choose expedited shipping at checkout it ships via UPS.

IMO we shouldn't have to pay extra to receive shipment by UPS, since most items shipped UPS in the past for the same shipping cost.

A lot of my orders/returns have been nightmares with the Mail Innovations, Surepost, handoff to USPS and it takes so much longer to receive my orders/refunds.

Part of the reason I don't shop much here anymore.

Re: Package Handed Off To Post Office

I just got a package from QVC that was sent UPS Smartpost.  Ordered it on January 25th and it finally got here on February 5th.  For six of those days it sat at a post office in a neighboring state, not moving.  I could've driven there in under three hours and picked it up.

I've never seen anything quite that bad before, so I have no idea why the post office didn't process it more quickly, but it is frustrating, I'll agree with that.  I guess I'm lucky that I finally got it and it was in good condition.

So, @Venezia, when UPS sorted it they probably put it on the wrong pallet, one that was delivered to a P.O. in another state.
I wonder if the post office just has no protocol setup for moving a UPS hand-off package from one post office to the other in a situation like that. I wonder if they had to wait for UPS to pick it up from them, and re-deliver it to your correct post office.

Re: Package Handed Off To Post Office

My letter carrier delivered my 20oz 613 NIBT today. He let me know he's going on vacation, won't be back till March 1st.
(We'll all get a lot of mis-delivered mail while he's gone)
That means it'll be safe to order when Chaz returns 2/27.

Don't know which method you use for placing your orders @77yangya, but there is an option for UPS all the way in the checkout process. It costs a few bucks more.

Re: Package Handed Off To Post Office

Hi guys!  I see I'm not the only one with this dilemma!  Hedge, I'm gonna slow down and use the UPS choice.  Yes, it's not fair we have to pay extra, we never had to before.  However, I'm gonna choose UPS.  With them I get it in a few days.  It's not fair to wait weeks or even months for our orders!  Hey, thank you all for the response.  Now I don't feel so bad!   LOL!!!  Thank you for letting me know there IS an option too.  I must be daft!  DUH!!!! I'm too impetuous when buying.  I see something I've been waiting for or see a good deal and I get like Fred Flintstone, bet, bet, bet, bet, bet, bet!!!!!.......and my brain goes TILT!!!  LOL!

Re: Package Handed Off To Post Office

What I find odd is that an article of clothing that comes in a white, plastic QVC shipping bag MIGHT be left on my porch by UPS and it MIGHT be delivered to the mailbox by USPS. I totally "get" the handoff system from UPS to the USPS, but my delivery methods aren't consistent.

Kind of off topic; last summer UPS delivered a clothing item to my front porch. When I went to pick it up an hour or two later, the bag was split open and yellow jackets flew out of the bag and I got stung about five times!

Those bags are TOUGH so I'm not sure whether it was shipped with a split in the bag or if it was mishandled while en route to me.

I called QVC and told them about it and they gave me a $75 merchandise credit. Lucky for them I'm not allergic.

Re: Package Handed Off To Post Office

I don't understand this either, fortunately I come home for lunch every day, I've had a

coat and a purse, laying on top of my mailbox by the road.  I can understand small items

such as makeup or jewlery going by mail.  But when most of the time for larger items

the UPS driver always left on my porch before. I will think twice before ordering in the future.
